“This is My Time” is an anthem about embracing your inner child, and it has the upbeat instrumentation to match. The first verse has a bright guitar and drums in the background as Francis On My Mind sings, “tell me how to find it, show me how to be.” This is the beginning of the story when she is feeling bogged down by adult life as we all are. At the end of the verse, she asks, “Is it okay if I never let go the way that I looked at the world when I did not know how it goes around? The chorus starts and the instrumentation is even brighter with the drums and happy synths. At the end of the second verse, Francis On My Mind declares “I know it’s okay if I never let go the way that I looked at the world when I did not know how it goes around.” In the chorus, she says “I’ll never leave my playground.” A playground is a place of great childhood memories. We still have a place to make memories. It’s just a lot bigger now. Francis On My Mind knows how freeing it is to be a child at heart, and she uses her musical gifts to persuade other listeners to do the same.
