Review: "Watered Down" - MELANi

Have you ever loved someone so much that not being with them feels like you are numb all around? The connection you shared was so powerful and beautiful that nothing else mattered besides the two of you. That was until somewhere along the way the other person stopped putting in effort and stopped putting in their love. It became this sad cycle of forcing conversations and making memories that didn’t have a purpose. MELANi released her latest track titled “Watered Down” on June 27, 2025. A song that reminds us to remember who we are and stop letting those we love wash away the best parts of ourselves.

“Watered Down” begins with MELANi’s heavenly voice that immediately grabs your attention. Her vocals were so beautiful I seriously could not get enough of this entire song. There was not a moment where I couldn’t feel the raw and intense emotion of her lyrics. I also enjoyed the steady drum beat throughout the song as it made the track familiar. The mood of the entire song was so empowering as well. She turned what is such a vulnerable and hard truth to admit into such an inspiring track for anyone who listens.

The talented artist that is MELANi is a singer/songwriter hailing from Melbourne, Australia. The 28-year-old artist released her first ever track titled “Good Gut Feeling” in 2023. Since then, she has released two other amazing tracks each falling under the indie pop genre. In all her music you can hear the honest and real-life experiences as she draws from them to create fantastic songs.
