Review: "What I Want" - Sophia Bolinder (feat. John Soul)

Sophia Bolinder released her single “What I Want” featuring John Soul on February 6, 2025. This song is about the desire and emotions that come with being in a relationship that is a little hard to navigate sometimes. Being in any sort of relationship is hard because there are always mixed feelings. Somewhere along the way you lose sight of what is really important, which is each other. Nothing else matters in those moments besides the person standing right next to you. Everyone is going to have their rough patches in a relationship, but the love grows stronger each time you move past it.
“What I Want” opens with such a groovy and soulful beat. It was almost hypnotizing how amazing the intro was especially with the vocals that followed. I thought the lyrics were also so heartwarming with lines like “Its me and you / And that’s the way it shows.” They gave off this sense of promise and pure love which I for one loved. I also enjoyed the slow beat of this track as it gave off such an intimate mood. Everything about this song was wonderful. I could not stop listening and I almost immediately added it to my everyday listening playlist.
Sophia Bolinder is a singer/songwriter from Malmo, Sweden. She released her debut track this year titled “What I Want.” The amazing track falls under that of the soul R&B genre. The song is filled with so much emotion and ear catching beats. Making it the perfect song for anyone who listens. I highly recommend giving this track a listen as you will not be disappointed.
