Review: "WHERE DO U GO?" - Sawyer Utah

We've all been there; so head over heels crushing on somebody that doesn't know how we feel, nor do we know how they feel about us either, but we're too scared to fess up. So, we fester in our anxiety and overwhelming gushy feelings. "WHERE DO U GO?" by Sawyer Utah is about those lingering questions we ask ourselves when we're crushing hard on someone. Where the heck do they go when they're not hanging out with us? Are they with somebody else? Are they having a better time with them than they do when they're with me? It's enough to make you sick.

Although the the topic of "WHERE DO U GO?" feeds all of us anxious hopeless romantics, the song itself is a bop and a half. The rushing, energetic beat has a nostalgic groove that gets you ready to move. The overall production has a bright, electro-pop atmosphere that is addictingly catchy. Not to mention Sawyer's incredibly smooth and heavenly voice to top it all off. Accompanied with a self-directed music video (with creative director Orchee Sorker) that takes you all over New York City and a remote desert location, "WHERE DO U GO?" is pure chaotic pop perfection.

Sawyer Utah is a 24-year-old singer/songwriter and producer. Originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin, he began writing songs at the very young age of seven, and performed at his first ever open mic night at eight years old. In middle school, he mastered the art of production and engineering, which led him to signing to music business veteran, Norbert Nix's artist development and publishing enterprise, VISCYRL. Sawyer has written and produced music for major label artists and recognizable names such as Zach Hood, ROSIE, Bryant Barnes, Jacob Sartorius and many more. With his own solo artist journey, Sawyer released his debut single, "Nights Like This" in 2023, earning more than half a million streams on Spotify alone.
