To put it simply, love is terrifying. Love is complicated and each person comes with their own set of baggage and flaws. This may scare certain people away, only wanting to reap the rewards of the fun parts of a relationship without the inherent hard work that a serious connection demands. However, this isn’t everyone. That is the story that TYYE tells in the song “whole thing”. Rather than only wanting a fling for the fun of it all, TYYE sings of an all-consuming love. A love that you want to put in the work for. In “whole thing”, TYYE is there for it all - even the ugly parts. TYYE states that the story behind “whole thing” is a previous experience of not having deep feelings reciprocated in a relationship. This R&B track is a perfect blend of a catchy tune and vulnerable lyrics with raw emotion.

The track begins with a groovy percussion beat before a bouncy synth enters with the vocals. The vocals have an ethereal and dreamy quality. In the chorus, the song becomes fuller and more upbeat. The bridge mellows out before the final chorus introduces beautifully layered harmonies in the vocals. The dream-like effect in the vocals contribute to the song's message about desiring someone and wanting to be a part of their life. They create the sense of fantasizing about someone. Overall, the song has a more mellow and groovy vibe that creates a sense of realism, recognizing that love may come with bumps in the road and wanting to go along for the entire ride.

TYYE is an artist from Kansas, United States. TYYE incorporated more pop influences in the creation of “whole thing”, drawing inspiration from artists such as The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Glass Animals, and Justin Bieber. This song was made in collaboration with local producer Braxton Medellin and it was mastered by Jackson Maddox. TYYE’s debut album was released in January of 2025, after which he performed in mainly local gigs. He is planning a performance later this year that will jumpstart a new era in his musical journey, with an EP, a full band, and staging. With songs of this quality and emotional value, TYYE will no doubt create a fantastic legacy for himself in the industry.
