Life is hard, especially when you're still figuring yourself out. Your late teens and early 20s feel like one endless loop of hell. But thankfully, there are activities, lessons, and most importantly, people that help us navigate this period of confusion and make life endurable. Ella England's "With You" is an ode to the people that have stuck by us during young adulthood and fostered our growth.
"With You" is an acoustic guitar-laden pop single with mild rock undertones featuring England's soulful vocals. The single opens with the lyrics; "Help me understand who I am / Help me understand what I'm here to do". England is expressing how directionless and helpless we can be when young - which is why we can use some help when navigating our lives early on. The 'you' England speaks of in the single is subjective and purposely open-ended in this context, too. This is because it's not just one person in one particular position that helps us - it's multiple people who have taken up various positions that have served as sources of strength and aid in our lives.
Ella England is a Scottish native that resides in London. "With You" is the artist's second single, with "Home" being her debut single. England is currently working on her third single, and we're all excited to see what she has in store for us! If you adored this song as much as I did, peep England's socials and give her music some virtual love.
