We can all agree that things are at an all time high. No matter where you are in the world, it seems as if something really big is happening on a daily basis. What's important is to have the little voice in your ear to tell you that "this too shall pass." That's exactly what the song Yas! by Fox Stevenson brings to the table. This song brings an optimistic outlook on the things that are happening in the world while also asking big questions. The writing that Fox brings to the table is inclusive while also touching on the political climate that we're having to deal with on a daily basis.
This song starts off acapella style with an amazing blend of harmonies giving us a sample of just how talented Fox's production is. All this leads up into a very fun, high paced and uplifting chorus. The chorus has this energy that is unmatched from any other song I've ever heard. What I think is really important to note is how innovative Fox is with using technology to come up with sounds adding even more texture to their songs. In this song specifically, Fox uses these sounds as fillers in the background to exapnd the horizon for listeners. While listening in headphones, it really allows the audience to be thrown into a whole different world.
Stanley Stevenson-Byrne, also known as Fox Stevenson, is an English singer-songwriter, DJ and producer. Beginning in the early 2000s, Fox's interest in electronic music production began when they released their first vocal track at just 15-16 years old. Fox turned to Youtube where an audience started forming as well as putting stuff up on Soundcloud in order to start spreading the word of their talents. From there, Fox has just been growing and growing. Fox just released their second album allowing the work they've laid down before to continue growing.
