Okay, let's cut right to the chase. 'broke & lonely' by Alexa Cappelli is the most relatable song ever - especially for us Gen Z kids. We're expected to know who we want to be and what we want to do the moment we turn 18. We're thrown into this crazy world alone and afraid and left to fend for ourselves. "Hey, does anyone know what they're doing?". The answer is no! We've got to fake it until we make it because that's the only way we will survive. 'broke & lonely' sings the thoughts we all think of daily. "Why is everything so damn expensive? Getting into debt just for attention. Living it up or settling down? Wish I knew what I want now". The struggle is real.
Aside from the genius lyrics, this song is so catchy it makes it hard not to frantically dance around your room and sing at the top of your lungs. The music gives me a sense of nostalgia in a way that it had to have been done on purpose. I mean, that's the point of the song, right? In our minds we still feel like a kid, and we have no idea where to go from here. The nostalgic feel of the song puts us back where we want to be - innocent, irresponsible and free. Instead here we are, teaching ourselves what we think is right and how to be an adult, working our butts off everyday to get nowhere.
Alexa Cappelli is an incredible and talented singer/songwriter from Southern California. Her lyricism captures the attention of many young minds out there. Alexa is a very relatable and kind 22 year old who wants to use her musical abilities to bring people together. If you love Alexa just as much as we do, she just released her new EP
'Confused @ 22' which is incredible.
