Q: ‘Talk’ is so catchy! What is the story behind the song?
Helen: It was inspired by the many women I’ve seen and know who have been told to tone down their confidence and self love. It made me question why women behaving that way was such a threat to society.
Q: What does the songwriting process look like for you?
Helen: I’ll usually start off with a topic in my head and then create a melody or find a sample I like. After that, I’ll create a guide and write lyrics to that guide!
Q: What is your favorite song that you have released? You can only pick one!
Helen: I think my song ‘Bitter Bitch’ is my favorite release so far, I always feel good listening to it. It is also featured in the new Netflix original movie 'Do Revenge,' that just premiered!
Q: Who would you say is your biggest inspiration?
Helen: There are so many artists I love and look up to, but the big names are definitely Michael Jackson and Beyoncé.
Q: What is your favorite part about being a musician?
Helen: Just creating something and falling in love with it, then being able to share it with the world.
Q: What are you most excited about in terms of your future with music?
Helen: Experimenting with new sounds and pushing myself to think outside of the box.
