Lyves takes listeners on an extremely emotional journey with her latest song "For Eden". The lyrics are honest. Each line and each verse voices unspoken thoughts, struggles, and truths that are kept inside. While these thoughts are often kept hidden and unspoken, the struggles that come with them are difficult to cope with. Internal struggles with mental health may be unseen, but that does not mean they are to be taken lightly. These battles with mental health can be all consuming, and Lyves expresses that with lyrics like "All these voices in my mind, they're taking over." and "So dosed up I was on a high, medication stole my dreams". Lyves' talent for storytelling through her song with such vulnerable lyrics is inspiring, offering anyone who faces similar struggles hope that they will overcome them.
From the very beginning to the very end, "For Eden" is a cathartic listening experience. Lyves' voice and tone is laden with emotions that draw out similar emotions from the listeners. "For Eden" is a song that must be listened to multiple times, because just once is not enough to appreciate Lyves' beautiful voice that sings of such heavy topics it almost feels like whispered secrets. At the same time, the calmer vibes of the song makes the lyrics and her voice take center stage and stand out while being vulnerable yet also brave. Lyves' voice is a soothing life line amongst a world of chaos that can silence even your most persistent, internal thoughts that weigh on you. The sound of the song, while undoubtedly having notes of sadness, also feels inspiring and healing. For anyone facing similar mental health struggles that Lyves bravely conveys through her lyrics, "For Eden" can serve as inspiration and support.
