Review: “21 in 21” - SRRY

Encapsulating the feelings of summer in a song, SRRY's "21 in 21" brings together the emotions of falling in love over the summer. Co-Written with Logan Alexandria who features on the song, the song is about falling in love in the summer of 2021 when she turned 21. The upbeat and happy indie pop song is the second song off of the group's Our Summer ep.

Beginning with a fading in background the song quickly begins with a nostalgic happy feeling. Coming into the chorus, the background gains more traction adding in guitar creating a more upbeat feel. The lyricism of the song stands out as it tells a story of falling in love through small actions that happen during the summertime. Long drives, drawing names in the sound, and a weekend trip, one that got out of hand and ended with a little more than they started with. The lyrics as well as the upbeat yet nostalgic soothing background create a sound that is undeniably remindinging of the summertime.

A band born from the bond of friends wanting to make music, SRRY is a group based in Phoenix, Arizona. The group draws from various points of influence that include, but are certainly not limited to, 80's bands such as information society to modern. indie pop such as LANY. Their music is best defined by indie synth pop and the traits of this music. The group's music is heavily influenced by the emotions of falling in and out of love. While "21 in 21" is their latest single, other songs such as "LA/Alone" were featured on the Netflix show Cobra Kai in season four. Only the second song off the groups Our Summer ep, and with even more to come the group is sure to showcase their musical skills.
