Review: "every little thing" - senses

senses every little thing Cover Art

Riding on the high of signing with Hopeless Records, pop-rock duo senses are back with their latest single, "every little thing." The track comes on the heels of the pair's recent success, following their viral cover of pop sensation Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!" Shedding light on the narrative behind the song, frontwoman Madison Taylor states, "'every little thing' is that moment of realization that someone you care about is dragging you down and doesn’t want to take responsibility. It’s that person in your life that lacks any self-awareness and has every opportunity for redemption, but no matter how much you try and how badly you want to help them, they just can’t get out of their own way.  We wanted to give this song a decisive upbeat feel to really emphasize that frustration and crushing feeling in the moment."

The perfect anthem for anyone who has struggled with a toxic relationship, senses' "every little thing" is a captivating and energetic blend of pop-rock and pop-punk. Despite the frustrated feelings in the track's lyrics, "every little thing" features a fast-paced, electrifying soundscape that gives a light-hearted balance to the heavy-hitting narrative. Frontwoman Madison Taylor's powerhouse vocals shine on the addictive single, effortlessly belting unforgettable melodies above the fray of sizzling guitar riffs, driving bass lines, and heart pumping drums.

Hailing from Los Angeles, senses began their journey when singer Madison Taylor met drummer Nick Sampson on Craigslist. The duo debuted in 2023 with their EP take me out of here, receiving praise from fans and critics alike. Their singles "sleepwalking" and "gonna make sure" have earned recognition from the likes of MTV, Wonderland Magazine, Rolling Stone IN, AXS TV, and many more. The singles have also been supported on radio stations, like KROQ, idobi Radio, and DC101. If that isn't impressive enough, senses have received support from several editorial playlists, including Spotify's The Scene, The Locker, Pop Punk's Not Dead, and All New Punk. Some of their other popular releases include "one last time," "better than this," and "can't you tell."
