Elli Moore’s newest single, LOSER, is an upbeat pop song about a breakup. It’s not just your average breakup song. She is speaking directly to her ex and letting her ex know it’s all their fault. Have you ever had an ex that wasn’t worth your time? If so, this song describes the exact way you felt after the relationship ended and it makes you feel better about the heartbreak. The music video is also really fun. Someone is keeping Elli hostage and her friend group has come to save her is the premise of the music video. The choreography towards the end was the icing on the cake of what is a high budget and well produced music video to accompany a high energy and well produced song.

LOSER starts with “La, la, la-la-la-la, la, loser, la, la, la-la-la-la” which is a part of the chorus as well. I like that Elli starts with a small taste of the chorus before she jumps into the body of the song. Lyrics like “Look at you, turning blue over just a little breakup. When you're the one who brought the drama”, “You thought that I was someone easy to blind so I showed my spine and gotcha tongue tied”, and “You could’ve had me, but now you lost me. See when you’re cocky, that’s what you’ll get” let the ex know how bad they messed up. Breakups are difficult to deal with, but the upbeat manner of the song is going to make you forget about your ex in a heartbeat. After all, music is the best medicine.

Elli Moore is a 28 year old singer, songwriter, and producer based in Los Angeles, California. She released her debut EP, Confections, back in March of 2020 and consistently released solo music up until today. She is also one half of pop writing/production duo, LYRE, alongside her best friend, Alina Smith. Together, they have written and produced a plethora of songs including ITZY’s “Mafia In The Morning” and Fall Out Boy’s “Hands Up (Dear Future Self)". In between solo work and LYRE, she partners with an organization, She Writes, that helps young women learn how to write and produce music. This goes without saying, but Elli is extremely accomplished, the work she has done is inspiring to all women, and she deserves to be spotlighted even more.
