ALTRBOY’s new single, TAKE ME HOME, is an alternative pop song about losing yourself. In her situation, she left a decade-long relationship and went to chase her dreams in Los Angeles, California. At first, it was magical and full of endless possibility. But, after too many late nights out, that excitement melted down into loneliness and disconnection. We can all resonate with starting a new chapter in life whether that be going off to college, getting married, starting a new job, or numerous other things. Sometimes, we take those risks, it ends up being a misstep, and we long for what we consider “home”.
TAKE ME HOME is a slower, sad song. The loneliness and disconnection I mentioned earlier are found in lyrics like “Think I’ve lost it. Think I’m haunted. By my demons and my monsters. So will you take me home? To a place that I know.” In contrast, lyrics like “And I’m just following the stars, whether near or far. I hope they’ll take me where I belong cause I’m falling apart” describe the desperation to make this uncertain situation worthwhile. I love the way the lyricism, production, and tone of her voice contribute to the melancholy atmosphere. In addition to that, the cover art completely captures the atmosphere as well. I absolutely love everything about it!
ALTRBOY is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. She has worked with Grammy award winning producers and songwriters from DJ Mustard to Darkchild to everyone else in between. She has credits in the film and TV industry and has helped other independent artists find their sound. Blending grungy alternative pop with raw emotion and cinematic textures, she is making her unique stamp on the music industry. If you like this song, I encourage you to check out “LAMBO EYES”. I’m looking forward to hearing more music from her.
