Disassociation is no joke, but it’s also whimsy in a way. Moving in your life can seem like a dream, and that is what is captured in this raw yet beautiful song. “Don’t Even Miss That Place” by Gal Musette speaks on this with her melancholiac melody. This song is perfect to wake up to, walk to, and even stroll through a garden with. Especially with the colder weather coming in and cozy holidays, this song is perfect to put on while baking and doing cozy things to. Such a heartfelt and emotional feeling wrapped into a Bridgerton-vibe song. Diving into this song further, you find all the elements that piece this together in such a fantastic way.

The piano is the main source throughout the entirety of this song, giving an original and timely feeling. There are even clips of birds tweeting, adding more to the vibe. Her vocals are angelic and raw! It gives a dreamy element that sounds like it can be played in a ballroom. Strings also get added, producing more of an elegant instrumental. It is light, airy, and soothing. Her higher octave floats us through her meaning, even during harmonizations toward the end that close together, resonating with each word. Overall, I plan on listening to this song while reading and baking, as this peaceful story is gorgeous.

Gal Musette is a singer/songwriter based out of Los Angeles, California. Since the young age of 10, she has established herself as a music prodigy who was writing piano-based lyrical compositions and performing at open-mics. At 14-years-old, she recorded her collection titled 70 Love Songs, inspired by The Magnetic Fields’ 69 Love Songs, that gained the attention of a Midwestern band touring and gave her an opening spot. She has since toured and recorded with artists such as Vacations, Jazzie Young, and even opened for Gaby Moreno. Her inspirations draw from many of the greats, such as Joni Mitchell, Bjork, The Cure, and many others. Fun fact, her name is based off of bal-musette, the accordion-based French waltz-style instrumental music.
