  • Review: "Headspace" - a little place called Aspen

New single by band a little place called Aspen, "Headspace" is a feel-good indie pop track that follows the main character's psychedelic trip that consists of infectious beats and easy-going melodies. It's certainly a song that was written to be listened to while driving under the hot sun. "Headspace" has a lot of groove to it as it follows this journey of trying to stay grounded and not let this trip take a bad turn. It's certainly a catchy tune you'll find stuck in your head at all times. When you listen to "Headspace" it's so easy to imagine yourself going on a journey as it plays and a little place called Aspen has created a fun experience for their listeners with this track. "Headspace" instantly brightens your ears and does a really good job of painting strong visuals. There's something very intriguing about the way the verses are executed, very modern. What's really enjoyable about the lyrics is the imagery really slows down time for listeners and helps ease your mind. It's definitely a song that reminds you of spring or summer. That's why the chorus really works for the aesthetic of this song, because it sounds like the kind of chorus you hear being played during these hotter seasons. There's also a really nice moment with the guitar solo, it's smooth and really sells the warmth of this track. When it comes to all the different elements in this song, everything does blend together well and the creation of this specific ambiance is clear and strong. Even during moments when the song focuses on not letting yourself fall victim to a bad trip, "Headspace" continues to be a fun song ready to be on repeat as we transition from spring to summer. a little place called Aspen is a band coming to us from Toronto that consists of members Nick Babcock, Hunter Sheridan, Jordan Moore, Nolan Hubbard, and Ty Callan. The group formed in 2022 with the intent of creating a modern boy band that makes infectious pop music. "Headspace" was recorded and produced by the band themselves and is their third release of 2025. a little place called Aspen certainly brings this refreshing energy to the world of indie-pop boy bands that's always interesting to see play out. You can hear this brightening energy as well in their previous releases. a little place called Aspen is expected to release more music this year and the next so keep your eyes open for what comes next. • Review: "Song In My Heart" - WILD

Finding a sense of newness throughout life and a sense of personal autonomy that comes with it is a huge milestone. In their first single release of 2025, WILD’s “Song In My Heart” brings out the feeling of warmth that comes with this discovery. Being able to tune into yourself and come out on the other side when personal strength has “been“there all along,” Along with a new song, WILD is also introducing their new singer to their audience, Dana Williams. With a strong debut into 2025, “Song In My Heart” brings out not only Williams but a re-found feeling of not being afraid and believing in oneself while also being able to lean onto others for support with the songs that are in all of our hearts. Initially written for an undisclosed animated film, WILD loved the song and its story so much that they decided to release it themselves. Their love for it makes total sense, the song is catchy and the optimism of the song brings a sense of uniting with oneself and their support system around them. Not only that, Williams debut with the band is a spectacular one–her voice is a sound that can’t get out of my head. The production of the song is bubbly, with horns of celebration and a rhythm that’s perfect for dancing. For fans of “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten and “Perfect” by P!nk, this song would line up directly with your taste. With this being the first single off of their new album, WILD has picked the perfect lead-up that builds anticipation and excitement for what’s next. With storytelling through vivid production and lyrics, WILD has been succeeding since their debut in 2017. Being based in Los Angeles, the city serves as inspiration for the band–the stories of the people, places, and energy that come together to make the magical city. With this inspiration, WILD’s indie sound and discography makes for a cinematic masterpiece. • Review: "Revenge" - Caitty

Caitty released her latest single titled “Revenge” on April 17, 2025. This song is about getting revenge on someone else while also learning some things about yourself. In any situation it’s easy to let yourself go and forget who and what you are capable of. You start to listen to all the thoughts that someone else is painting you out to be and eventually those become a part of you. But then you realize that all these things being said about you are nothing, but depictions of other people’s minds and you start to reclaim yourself. With so much power behind each and every lyric this song is the perfect track to regain confidence and purpose in any situation.   “Revenge” opens up with a dark melody which immediately transitions into her vengeful lyrics. While this song is about getting revenge on someone else it does so in a hard hitting but slow manner. Her lyrics are so powerful and raw throughout the entire track you can feel every emotion. She sang with a beautifully haunting voice that was always present with a dramatic and moody touch. My favorite part about this song was the steady but intense drums being played throughout. It gave off the sense of betrayal and rage but also made room for gaining control once it was all over.   The amazing artist that is Caitty is a singer/songwriter from Margaret River, Australia. Just last year she started releasing music with her first single titled “Fishing trips.” Since then, she has released three other emotionally filled, raw songs. While her genre fits into that of country folk music with her new release, she wanted to change up some things. Through “Revenge” she did just that, releasing a song that was different from her norm, while also bringing so much mysterious and dramatic talent. “Revenge” is out now on all major streaming platforms and I highly recommend giving it a listen as well as her brand new EP titled “Moth to the flame.” Written By Julissa Garcia FOLLOW Caitty: Instagram   | Spotify  | Website   *Sponsored Post - Discovered on Musosoup. • Review: "Twilight" - Nadedja

Brazilian-born artist Nadedja, expresses the beauty of new beginnings in her latest single “Twilight,” the title itself informing listeners of the duality and overall harmony between the light and darkness that comes with change. As young artist Nadedja teases her long-awaited debut album, eager fans have seemed to embrace and give space to the warm and intimate message conveyed in her serene sound and lyrics. Nadedja’s “Twilight,” hints visuals of sunny glares and accentuated night shadows as a way to captivate audiences on the emotional storytelling revealed through her simple, yet deeply-embedded lyrics. The song’s introduction instantly grounds its narration as a leaving behind and creating new experiences reflection: “One summer I hit the gas / On a big open road / You said I’ll stick around / Couldn’t care where we go.” While the lyrics manifest the universal and stomach-turning feeling of change, the speaker’s lyrics depict a vision of change that isn’t embodied by fear, but by peace. There is a strong sense of warm acceptance and anticipation in the song’s first few bars. This feeling lingers throughout all of “Twilight.”  Nadedja’s captivating voice pushes listeners to reminisce on their own personal journeys: the triumphs and hardships. Her voice, while inherently strong and powerful, is molded by a soft vulnerability. Due to this, you can really feel the lyrics as a lived experience. Its effect on audiences is extremely profound. The speaker states, “We came from nowhere / But desert sun glares over everything rare / And going anywhere made us two / Sweet fools playing solitaire.” To me, these lines express the raw wonder behind everything viewed as new. This interpretation reveals radiance in fresh experiences and parallels a lust for life, with the virtue of solitaire, patience. The interconnected themes of purpose, fulfillment, and surrender shine through the song’s pre-chorus: “I never missed anything baby / ‘Cause everything that's meaningful takes time / Am I dreaming of a new dream? / Letting all the anger burn behind / Our bodies shadows overnight.” The bittersweet reality of honoring your past life while making way for your new life, is deeply sensed. The heartfelt and relatable message in Nadedja’s storytelling also plays a key influence on the song's overall soundtrack. “Twilight” echoes steady drum beats, layered by a quiet variety of guitar reverbs, and stacked floating-like vocals. Its dreamy style balances a poise tone carried by a controlled and effortless delivery. In the end, Nadedja’s hook phrase “Our bodies shadows overnight,” brings attention to the song’s factual title. A life marked by a period of light and darkness, is forever illuminating- as is the sky's twilight. The Northeastern Brazilian-born and UK-based artist, Nadedja, is a singer-songwriter beloved for her unfiltered authenticity and unique pop sound. Her musical upbringing stems from her ancestors’ experiences with music. In her childhood, music was viewed as a reward. At the age of thirteen, Nadedja was given the opportunity to participate in private piano and guitar lessons. This experience nurtured her creativity and guided her desire for a music-related career. Eventually, Nadedja moved abroad to North East, UK where her reputation as an artist thrived and her unique sound as a singer evolved. Nadedja’s style has pushed the boundaries of constricting artists to a specific genre. Her music resembles a mix of pop, rock, and folk emboldened by popular Brazilian beats. Nadedja’s strong-willed and vocal personality has allowed her name, talent, and passionate love for advocacy to be appreciated. As of 2025, listeners await the release of her debut album-consider me a fan.  Written By Galileah Sanchez FOLLOW NADEDJA: Instagram   | Spotify  | TikTok  | Website  | YouTube   *Sponsored Post - Discovered on Musosoup. • Review: "MONSTER" - CMAGIC5

If you’re a pop-punk lover, then this song is going to scratch every part of your brain– and then some. Electrifyingly infectious with that classic pop-punk blend of intense percussion and guitar, CMAGIC5’s (“C”) latest single “MONSTER” is coming at you with its anthemic melodies and iconic chorus. The titular monster of this track is going to be relatable for those of you who have ever been trapped in a toxic relationship. It’s something you can’t escape, that destructive cycle that you keep going back to in spite of knowing how bad it is for you. You may be exhausted, you may be longing for freedom, yet that push-and-pull is just so evident that it’s hard to break out of it. “MONSTER” is a haunting representation of such a relationship, and demonstrates how, even if the person is not there, the relationship follows us everywhere like a monster. “MONSTER” is for all you aforementioned pop-punk lovers, enjoyers, and all-around enthusiasts. I, personally, am one of those people, and so “MONSTER” has all the bits and bobs that I love about pop-punk. For one, its soundscape has a spectacular blend of both percussion and guitar; it’s always amazing to hear just how much the percussion can affect the energy of a song, and “MONSTER” certainly takes advantage of how much power it has in a track. You just can’t help but tap your foot to the beat when you listen to it. And then when you turn to the lyrics, you hear exactly how well both the songwriting and soundscape meld into one cohesively fun song. The track discusses a toxic relationship that the narrator is haunted by yet cannot help but return to, and I think it’s so fantastic how the song’s energy explodes during the chorus to mirror exactly how the narrator is feeling about their monstrous partner. C’s vocals are brilliant in this track, but I think the chorus really highlights her amazing voice, singing, “I keep running but you always follow me home / hiding underneath my bed.” The bridge, too, is great. It’s less about the fear that the narrator feels about the relationship and more about the need they feel to return to their partner– “I need you like the world needs rain / You’re the blood in my veins.” It’s a chemical need to be with them in spite of the toxicity. C’s “MONSTER” is a track that’ll have you up on your feet and dancing around, but also tuned into its dark lyrics. Toronto-based singer-songwriter, musician, and recording artist CMAGIC5 (also known as “C”) is creating modern pop tracks that embrace all that coming-of-age has to offer. Her songs have a rock ‘n’ roll spirit, catchy soundscapes and passionate vocals that invite its listeners to imagine themselves as the “main character”. Her debut single “Ready to Run” dropped in 2020, and her similarly titled debut album came out just a year later. Since then, she’s worked alongside numerous artists and collaborated with them in a wide range of tracks. Her music is similar to artists such as Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, and Sabrina Carpenter; and C is a firm believer that music is your best friend that’ll help you overcome anything and everything. If you enjoyed “MONSTER”, then drop C a follow and be sure to listen to her vast discography!  Written By Alexa Leung FOLLOW CMAGIC5: Instagram | Spotify  | Facebook

  • Album Review: "PISCES" - James Arthur

Photo credits: Genius Embracing his astrological sign, James Arthur has released his sixth studio album, PISCES . The English singer-songwriter takes Pisces personality traits, like being introspective and sensitive, and weaves them into the fabric of the album's composition. Shedding light on his connection to astrology, Arthur shares, "I’m a Pisces, and I’ve always resonated with those traits. Each track on this album is a part of me, a building block of who I am. PISCES just felt like the natural title to bring everything together," TRACK LIST: 1. Summer 2. Cruel 3. All My Love 4. ADHD 5. Gucci (Interlude) 6. Celebrate 7. F.R.I.E.N.D.S 8. Embers 9. KARAOKE 10. Yeah, No. 11. Water 12. Hallelujah Quickly rising to fame after winning the X Factor in 2012, James Arthur has been a staple in the pop world since his chart-topping cover of Shontelle's "Impossible." The artist has consistently found himself on the UK charts since his debut, enjoying the success of albums like Back From The Edge and You. Though Arthur is known for his heartfelt ballads, he has chosen to move in a different sonic direction with PISCES , turning to a more ethereal, soft sound. Explaining the shift in his artistry, Arthur states, "I wanted this project to feel different – dreamier and more intimate. People often expect big, emotional ballads from me, but I’ve always had more to offer. This time, I wanted to strip things back and explore a gentler approach." Wishing to connect with his emotions and audience, James Arthur wears his heart on his sleeve in each song on PISCES . The album has a solid mix of ballads and light commercial pop tracks, staying in touch with the artist's roots while pushing his sonic boundaries. "Summer" starts PISCES off strong, engulfing listeners in an addictive pop rock soundscape. The track is one of the more explosive entries on the album, seamlessly moving into the next track, "Cruel," a soft, tender ballad that is a stark difference from the intense choruses of "Summer." "All My Love" picks the pace back up, keeping things sweet and touching while avoiding becoming stale by incorporating catchy hooks and driving beats throughout the track. Turning to themes of mental health, Arthur opens up on "ADHD," addressing the difficulties of living with ADHD and how it impacts falling in love. The introspective track is accompanied by an irresistible pop rock soundscape, showing why it's deserving of being the album's lead single. "ADHD" is followed by a brief shift in genres with "Gucci (Interlude)," switching to a hip-hop inspired sound that breaks up the heavy use of commercial pop on the rest of PISCES . After the detour "Gucci (Interlude)" takes us on, Arthur moves back to intimate ballads with "Celebrate." The track was another single released ahead of the album, showcasing the artist's elite lyricism and emotive vocals fans know and love. A nod to the hit NBC sitcom of the same name, "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" seems to mourn the death of actor Matthew Perry , capturing the hurt fans felt worldwide when the news broke. The track is written in a way that sounds like Arthur is speaking directly to Perry, showing how much the actor's work meant to him and questioning why no one was there for Perry in his last moments. "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" is truly a heartbreaking song that's relatable to those who felt grief over the loss of Perry but can also resonate with anyone who has experienced the sudden loss of a loved one. Moving to themes of lost love and lingering feelings, "Embers" is up next on PISCES . The track showcases Arthur's deep, powerful vocals over an acoustic guitar-laden soundscape, proving to be one of the most beautiful songs on the album. "KARAOKE" brings us back to a more lighthearted, commercial pop sound, featuring a peppy soundscape that makes it easy to dance along to. It's clear why the track was released as one of the singles to promote PISCES as it keeps the momentum going on the album with a fiery pop rock influenced sound. Starkly different from the rest of the album, "Yeah, No." is a highlight on PISCES with its heavier pop punk sound. The track sets a blistering pace, featuring driving percussion, electrifying guitar riffs, and riveting melodies that deviate from Arthur's goal of delivering a soft, intimate approach to his artistry. An acoustic ballad similar to "Embers," "Water" serves as the penultimate entry on PISCES . The track features an acoustic guitar-laden soundscape, allowing listeners to be awed by Arthur's spellbinding vocal performance. "Water" has some of the richest instrumentals on the album, moving from acoustic guitar riffs to enveloping listeners with lush strings as Arthur belts heartfelt lines. Ending PISCES on a sentimental note, Arthur reflects on the pain he's experienced in life in "Hallelujah." The track starts soft and delicate as the artist exposes the rawest parts of himself over light piano lines, later building to the song's climax. Winding down from the ups and downs of the album, "Hallelujah" leaves listeners in a contemplative mood full of bittersweet hope that one day all the pain will be washed away. Building on the success of his previous album, Bittersweet Love , James Arthur continues to deliver his signature soulful ballads while giving fans something new to chew on with the different direction he took on PISCES . The album is a reflection of everything the artist has been through up until this point, showcasing a culmination of love, loss, and pain that makes Arthur who he is. PISCES takes us on an emotional journey many of us can relate to, giving pop enthusiasts a plethora of songs that can be enjoyed for ages. • Review: "It Is What It Is" - Rosie Darling

In "It Is What It Is", Rosie Darling openly says all the thoughts that often go unsaid. Everyone at some point has held on to a one-sided relationship - whether platonic or romantic - longer than they likely should have. Its not always easy to let go of relationships. When there are many different emotions involved, fighting to stay together sometimes seems like the best option to ensure nobody gets hurt. But when that effort is not returned, it quickly becomes clear that maintaining the relationship is only important to one person. At that point, it can be easier to move on. In the song, Rosie sings, "I say, 'It is what is is', because I know what it isn't." This line beautifully and simply sums up this entire complex experience. When you realize that someone has shown you their true self, rather than giving them the benefit of the doubt, it would be easier to accept that their actions are better indicators of their intentions than any idealized version you have created in your head. Rosie Darling's beautiful, unforgettable voice is one that could sell out stadiums. Each lyric she sings with her soft and delicate tone makes the already raw and vulnerable song significantly more impactful. "It Is What It Is" is not just a song with lyrics to be listened to, but to be felt . The song has an almost ethereal, indie-pop vibe, fitting perfectly with the message of the song. It feels somewhat melancholy, but also peaceful and, in a sense, hopeful. The moments the melody slows down and gets quieter during some verses, then picks back up in tempo and volume with a boost of powerful vocals and instruments during the chorus, feels like switching from mourning a relationship to acceptance. "It Is What It Is" reminds me of a song you would hear during a montage during a film when a character moves on from a breakup and looks forward to the future with hope, rather than holding on to what was. On April 25th, 2025, LA-based indie-pop singer-songwriter, Rosie Darling, released her latest EP "Roomful of People". Her new song "It Is What It Is" was featured on the EP. Her new EP "Roomful of People" follows her last album "Lanterns", marking a new era for the songwriter. About her latest music, Rosie Darling has said, "These songs feel elevated, like a more mature version of myself." Rosie Darling's discography is honest, showing off so many coming-of-age moments with her naturally confessional songwriting. Whether about topics like relationships, friendships, or adulthood, Rosie Darling always pushes herself forward with her creative songwriting process. She begins with just a word or an idea that quickly grows into another beautiful song with touching, layered lyricism. Rosie describes her recent works as "a little bit outside of the traditional pop structure." Rosie Darling's non-traditional, unique music and lyrics conveys so much authenticity to listeners that makes her an unforgettable artist in the industry who doesn't just follow popular sounds, but creates them. Following on the heels of their recent single, "River Of Tears," Seafret have delivered another masterpiece with their latest release, "Wait." The passionate track serves as a love letter to the duo's anchors in life, expressing their longing and gratitude to the places and relationships that give them a reason to return from touring. Exposing the inspiration behind the song's narrative, Seafret shared, "The reality of being a musician is a two-faced coin. On one side you have lots of incredible experiences and get to see places you could never have dreamt of going. The other is that it takes you away from everyone and everything you love and call home. This song is about finding those people, that place and praying they can hold strong until you return." Matching the single's tender, vulnerable lyrics, "Wait" exudes warmth and honesty as Seafret reflect over a vibrant, bittersweet soundscape. The track seamlessly blends folk rock with indie pop, creating an immersive atmosphere that features rich harmonies, spirited strings, and exhilarating vocals. • Review: "Housewife" - Magdalia

Magdalia's song "Housewife" takes listeners through post-breakup feelings of catharsis and acceptance. This song is about standing up after you have been wronged and making the decision that you will no longer be the only one experiencing the hurt from the fallout of someone else's actions.
