  • Review: "I Hate Hating You" - Brooke Taylor

In this emotional pop anthem, Brooke Taylor's single "I Hate Hating You" drags any listener into the depths of whiplash and turmoil. Drawing on themes of resentment from a prior relationship, Brooke conveys the pain and dissonance that accompany feelings of heartbreak. With a chorus playing on sarcasm and sincerity that will hit you where it hurts, Brooke leaves the lingering sentiment with her lyrics. Through her relatability, her lyrics are sharp and honest. While catchy and enjoyable, the ballad does not lack introspection and intensity. Brooke's talented voice carries across the mellow but catchy flow of the single, allowing for a balance of hurt, sadness, and anger. The essence of this song does not need to be shocking or loud to convey the importance and depth of emotion: Brooke's voice, along with the production value, takes listeners on a journey with those elements alone. • Review: "Mr. Fix It" - JT Roach

“Mr. Fix It” explores the tender hopelessness of a nagging desire to reverse critical damage, paired with a sound that fosters compassion and lament. Roach’s approach to sentimental shortcomings involves a multiplied perspective detailing what he can’t seem to fix. The first jarring, four lines of lyricism utilize two magnetic commonalities followed by a crushing, adverse reality served with composure. Roach learned mechanical skills with Tim Taylor, yet never learned what to do when he “ self sabotages ”. He grew up religious, yet would never “ talk to God ," and finally reaches his limit in the track when noting the tragedy of school shootings. This leads to a break in vocals and a fracture in spirit that retires his calm intro voice and replaces it with a controlled exclamation, “ and I can't fix it ,’ as he settles into a doomed reality. Roach reflects on memories as he provides a parallel between society and relationships.  Deep acoustics compliment Roach’s rooted vocals during the introduction and provide contrast from the chorus to create stability in a track saturated with themes of instability and misfortune. With a soft-pop beat, Roach resents his inability to “ fix it ”, alongside the occasional vocal distortion to communicate frustration. He showcases a vocal duality that successfully delivers somber nostalgia before expressing passionate grievances. Nearing the end of the track, Roach isolates his vocals for effect with a drum build-up and twinkling instrumentals. Complete with a final reminder of the chorus, Roach is clear about how he feels. During the last few seconds of the track, he emphasizes irreparable relationships by closing with a voicemail to someone who hasn’t replied, which adds an extra dose of authenticity to the piece. JT Roach’s new release is a sigh of defeat enhanced with moving memories and choking lyricism that is so credible, you can’t skip. JT Roach is signed as a writer/producer to Prescription Songs, and has over 100 million streams over Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube as a solo artist. As an American singer/songwriter Roach has worked with artists like Slander , Said The Sky , Subtronics , and others. Roach released his first single “Tipsy Love” in 2017, his first EP “Witches Lake” in 2019, and his latest single “Mr. Fix It” this May. He won NBC’s Songland Season 1 finale, where OneRepublic chose his “Somebody to Love” to record. He has over 300K monthly listeners on Spotify, with his most frequently streamed song being “Potions” by Slander x Said The Sky x JT Roach. • Album Review: "Music For People Who Believe In Love" - Joe Jonas

Photo Credits via joejonas.com In his new album Music For People Who Believe In Love , Joe Jonas inspires listeners with a refreshing perspective of perseverance. TRACK LIST Woven (with DOMi & JD BECK) Parachute Work It Out Only Love Heart by Heart Honey Blonde My Own Best Friend Velvet Sunshine (with Franklin Jonas) Sip Your Wine (with Sierra Ferrell) Hey Beautiful (with Louane & Tiny Habits) What We Are (with Lu ísa Sonza) You Got The Right What This Could Be Constellation With a vibrant solo and group career, Joe Jonas is a pop sensation and a household name. Starting off as a member of the Jonas Brothers , wrapped up in the world of Disney, Joe gained a wide audience from a young age. Staring in films and television shows including Camp Rock and Jonas , his musical talents captured the hearts of so many young audiences. As his career blossomed, various milestones marked growth in his musical journey. When the Jonas Brothers temporarily disbanded in 2013, he branched out and became lead singer of the musical group DNCE , releasing iconic songs like "Cake By The Ocean". He begins a tour across the US this summer as a part of the Jonas Brothers. All the experience and music Joe has brought to life has carved him out a special place in the alternative pop-rock scene. Woven (with DOMi & JD BECK) Starting off the album with character, this eclectic instrumental track offers listeners a feeling of disorientation reminiscent of the beginning of a whimsical adventure story. The sound of a young child's babbling layers overtop simple high piano arpeggios to open the song. From there, the energy builds as various instruments progressively join the tune. Fast strumming, continuously rapid arpeggiated chords on the keyboard, and the sound of violin give the storied instrumentals a vibrant and exciting feeling. The frantic instrumentals fold in the sound of woodwinds and drums, bringing the song to an almost dizzying climax before it closes with the simple piano that began it. Parachute Positivity and resilience pulse through the heart of the second track in the album. Combining invigorating instrumentals including drums and electronic pads with Joe's vocal swagger, the sound of this song exudes confidence. Through the verse, he skillfully walks the line of speak-singing and singing as the lyrics sprinkle nuggets of wisdom on moving on including "heartbreak only lasts a couple seasons" and "memory is thicker than a picture". Whether you're trying to get over a relationship or period of time in your life that is holding you back, this song is a motivating saving grace. The chorus uses the metaphor of its title for a continuous internal supportive mindset and observes the possible difficulties that the speaker may face, ultimately coming to a conclusion of perseverance. Work It Out The next track starts with twangy acoustic guitar strumming before diving into a dynamic blend of electric guitar, fast-paced drums, and expressive singing. The song comes across like a fun pep talk you would give yourself when you need a reminder to keep your head up. "Work It Out" puts a direct and introspective spin on the message of perseverance in "Parachute", offering a literal manifestation of the preceding song's metaphors. This track is riddled with fun mantras like "even baddies get saddies" that provide an uplifting twist and sense of universality to struggles. With an inspiring message and upbeat tune, this is the perfect track to make you smile on those days that you feel like life's getting you down. Only Love The next track in the album is a touching mix of swagger and emotion from its sound to its lyrics. "Only Love" uses percussion, expressive electric guitar, and Joe's confident, low vocals to hone in on an in-the-moment feeling captured in the lyrics. The speaker of the song tells a tale of a popular girl encouraging a shy boy to embrace the love between them and not to be afraid of romance. The sound of the chorus glows in contrast to the edgy storytelling tone of the verse, and as the song goes on into the bridge, the tune gains a love-struck softness. With strong vocals, an upbeat vibe, and a chorus with a sun-kissed sound, this might just be the love song of the summer. Heart by Heart Exploring how time commitments outside a romance can drive a wedge into your love life, "Heart by Heart" tells a tale of familiarity and longing. Along with drums and guitar, comforting and expressive vocals open the song with a touch of country in their sound. This song is a reminder to a partner who has started to move on that the speaker still feels tied to them and is around if their new romance does not go as planned. Refreshingly, as the speaker dotes on his former love, the tone is not bitter. Compassion and understanding come through lyrics like "you gotta live your life". Through the pre-chorus, high vocal layers repeat "just remember I will always remember" as electronic instrumentals sound. Through the chorus and verse, there is a progressively intense passion in the vocals, very much feeling like longing and hope are loaded in the meaning of each word. Honey Blonde Electric and acoustic guitar smoothly open the track with a gentle, comforting atmosphere. Adoration and everything sweet shines through the lyrics of this song, with words like "orange wine" and "antidote" painting a picture of a truly precious romance. High vocals make up the chorus, offering a floaty and dreamlike tune. Memories and metaphors for closeness come through the romantic lyrics of the verses as Joe's storytelling vocals rhythmically annunciate the syllables. This warm track draws listeners into the simple wonders of a relationship, basking in the sweet, sweet taste of closeness. My Own Best Friend Freeing and introspective, this folk-pop track allows listeners to look at the good in life alongside the bad. With beautiful imagery and metaphysical questioning, the lyrics take on deep questions of belonging and identity. An ultimate message of learning to support yourself is fostered throughout the song. Soft, comforting guitar opens the song alongside a whistling pattern that appears throughout the tune. Joe's conversational vocals have a hushed tone through the verse, almost as though his tone is protective of the vulnerable thoughts in the lyrics. Rounded and resolved, the vocals in the chorus are warm with layers of high, breathy singing in the background supporting Joe's deep, soulful expression. Velvet Sunshine (with Franklin Jonas) Ah, to be young and strange and in love! This track explores the excitement of a chaotic romance. Expressing a desire for a certain level of dramatics, the song uses honest lyrics like "kinda like the feeling when you lead me on". Bright guitar, upbeat percussion, and energized singing have the thrill of the lyrics pulsing through the sound of the song. Joe blends singing, speak-singing, and vocalizing creating a dynamic and fun sound. Throughout the chorus, the romance-fueled energy is brought to a crux through bouncy instrumentals on the keyboard and the way the lyrics joyfully coast in attraction. Sip Your Wine (with Sierra Ferrell) Guitar and retro vocals with a slight distortion open the track, delving into the freeing chorus straight away. A feeling of nostalgia and reflection looms over the tune and lyrics of the song as it conveys the blissful wisdom that comes from broadening your point of view. Coasting on the vibe of a journey with storytelling lyrics like "thousand of miles left 'til Reno", the song embodies the spirit of enjoying the ride. Words like "let's sit back and waste some time" paired with the broad revelations of perspective invites listeners to embrace every moment. Sierra Ferrell's high, breathy vocals echo Joe's speak-singing in the pre-chorus, and blend dynamically throughout the choruses in the song. The way the two singers trade verses and blend through the chorus feels like a meaningful conversation. It takes on the way the lyrics climb towards the idea of embracing love. Hey Beautiful (with Louane & Tiny Habits) Devotion and admiration shine through this glowing declaration of love. With lyrics in both English and French, "Hey Beautiful" profoundly takes on the holy and eternal feelings that come with romance. This entrancing track reflects the way love can fulfill a person. Gentle strumming accompanies soft and soothing humming to open the track before Joe's vocals begin slowly working through a message of all-consuming love. Louane's airy vocals blend with Joe's deeper sound in the chorus with beautiful harmonies expressing the heavenly feelings the lyrics take on. What We Are (with Luísa Sonza) There are so many little questions and experiences that people search out in the beginning of a relationship. This track skillfully conveys support, excitement, and curiosity in that new romance stage. Groovy, rhythmic, and atmospheric, the percussion and electronic instrumentals set a blissful tone for the track. Joe's singing moves at a deliberate pace through the verse, quickly flowing through wondering thoughts the speaker has for his new partner before slowing on the words "don't lie". His tone is so soft that it mak es the lyrics' demand for vulnerability feel like they are coming from a safe place. Luísa Sonza's singing through the Spanish verse of the song is warm and melismatic, with an entrancing range of breathy lows. You Got The Right With any romance, there is a risk of heartbreak. This intimate song acknowledges that risk, boldly expressing the way taking your partner for granted is a truly foolish endeavor. The song starts with a whisper of the chorus before delving into the folk-like alternative guitar and vocals of the verse. Lyrics like "you got the right to find someone new" look at the speaker's partner with autonomy and respect, and showing the gratitude they feel for their current relationship. Percussion, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar bring an exhilarating pulse to the chorus: a catchy expression that builds in texture and passion throughout the song. What This Could Be This inspirational track is an uplifting look into strength and resilience, especially when it comes to love. It uses warm, stimulating major chords, electronic instrumentals, percussion, and guitar to reign in on a motivating energy. Reflecting on the speaker's former view on what could be too much for them to handle, the lyrics proudly reflect on the way he managed to move forward despite life's hurdles. The comforting realization expressed through the song: "my heart was made for making mistakes", is one that so many people need to hear. Life, much like everyone on this Earth, is imperfect. These words are a message to avoid living in fear because we were made for life and all of its imperfections. This track expresses the beauty of taking the good alongside the bad with words like "I'd give up my peace of mind to lose my mind again with you". Constellation Finishing off the album with a message about how things in life come full circle, this song uses the stars as a metaphor for perspective. A glowing, soft electric guitar picking pattern supports Joe's high, angelic vocals through the verse before empowering percussion and deeper singing that is roaring with passion builds towards the chorus. Exhilaration and joy soar through the highs of the chorus. The track takes on the spirit of accomplishment, with all the preceding songs' revelations of identity, romance, growth, and perseverance fueling the energy of the lyrics. Perseverance, self-love, and romance make up the heart of Music For People Who Believe In Love . This pop album uses alternative, rock, and folk influences with guitar and drum-heavy tunes that have an overall warm atmosphere. A refreshing message is woven through each and every song in the album: no matter what, life will keep moving forward. This collection of songs is the perfect support for listeners locked in post-breakup pain, letting them know that no matter what, new opportunities for happiness will come along. Joe Jonas has truly unlocked a can-do attitude with this uplifting album. Written By Hanna Kowal FOLLOW JOE: Instagram | Facebook | Spotify | TikTok | YouTube *copyright not intended. • Review: "Underwater Skies" - Lucie Glang

What started as a simple challenge to write and record a song a day in October of 2022, turned into Lucie Glang’s latest single “Underwater Skies”. Released this past week, this track was the second that Glang created in her challenge, and was revisited by her and Danish producer Martin Korsgaards the next year and developed even further. Glang stated that this track, “tells about the feeling of being underwater and feeling the present moment, while letting go of your worries. Concentrating on breathing out and the blue blurred vision around you. Written to calm your nervous system in moments of panic.” This idea is a new take on the common theme of being underwater, as usually artists view it as suffocating and trapping. Glang takes a traditionally negative motif and turns it into a feeling of liberation and peace. Starting with an ethereal finger plucked chord and a deep breath from Glang, this track is soothing and simplistic. A faint sound of waves hitting the shore is layered in the background, setting the stage of a beachside contemplation. Glang’s voice swirls around, her annunciation making her lyrics appear in almost a whisper. In the chorus, she sings “Imagine what it’s like / To stay here for some time / Breathe out and don’t swim up”. As the chorus fades, her voice is slowly joined by over 50 others, harmonizing and humming as if they are sirens pulling the listener into the water. After the cacophony of voices fade, the track ends, as simple as it started. Lucie Glang is a singer-songwriter born in Germany. She recently toured both Germany and Denmark, promoting her first EP: the Game. “Underwater Skies” was released with Nashville based recording company Tonetree, and is the first song of Glang’s second EP, expected this November. Since her first recording in 2020, she has amassed over 14,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Glang blends folk-pop with Nordic influences, creating an intriguing style, similar to that of Maggie Rogers, Maisie Peters, and the Japanese House. • Review: "A Truth" - Maddison Kate

While breakups are a tough thing to go through both mentally and physically. The pain doesn’t last for too long before you realize just how much the other person didn’t deserve you. Maddison Kate’s latest release “A Truth” is about breaking up with someone who never really appreciated who they were. Relationships can only work when both sides give their all to not only themselves but to each other. If there is no communication whatsoever about anything then the relationship can’t grow. When you truly love someone nothing else matters, not the past, not the imperfections, not who they used to be. But rather how things are worked out, who that person is going to become and how you will both grow to become a strong couple.   From the beginning of this song, I was immediately hooked as the guitar was so attention grabbing. With the lovely guitar strings being strung I knew just how epic this track would be, especially with her commanding vocals. Her voice was so soul stirring making this entire track powerfully in every possible way. The lyrics were insanely bold with lines like “If only you knew, if you knew, / how much I actually pity you.” They were also full of so much truth and pain with lines like “Precious boy you think that love is just a mask / worn by those who don’t wanna be sad.” I seriously just could not get enough of how raw and relatable this song was. I will definitely be playing this song on repeat for the next month, and I highly recommend you doing the same!   Maddison Kate is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter from Meanjin (Brisbane) Australia. She released her first single in 2021 titled “I’ll Be Free.” While her first single was released in 2021 the music industry is no stranger to her. Since a young age she has been performing anywhere that had open mic nights. Allowing her to fall in love with the world of music and everything that it has to offer. I for one cannot wait to hear what else this talented artist has in store for us next! • Review: "Distant" - Ava Valianti

“Distant” is a casual, buoyant account detailing the disappointment of a gradual loss, brimming with the innocence of a young heart. Valianti sings “ you say you’re gonna be real busy/ have to go to lots of parties, ” as she mourns the creeping absence of a childhood friend that disconnects during the process of growing up. She tries to salvage the friendship as the two grow distant by questioning, “ hey, do you still bicker with your siblings, ” unable to crack the shifty glass that separates them. Valianti seems to process this grief by the end of the song, “ I smile to you, you wave goodbye, ” and accepts what stole her friend was a social “ sickness ”. Finally, she notes the speed and loneliness of the loss and leaves the listener with an ambiguous cliffhanger: “ no forgiveness ”. “Distant” begins with a lively history of friendship, followed by a freshly processed session of heartache.  Valianti’s sound resembles a softer version of sunny, indie-pop hits like “ Calling After Me ”, with additional bendy vocals that emit tragedy. Ava Valianti’s voice is indescribably sublime, flecked with dynamic fluctuations in tone and style that compliment the gut-punching story of “Distant”. She relieves sadness through sections of fluttery vocals, inviting listeners to sing along. The structure of the track compliments a chronological narrative that flows with an impeccable understanding of purposely placed repetition and the sound required to deliver it gracefully.  In contrast to the bubbly beginning of the song, Valianti sharply inhales as the track closes, which may be attributed to a silent cry. This indicates her authentic struggle to swallow an unfortunate experience. Finally, Valianti’s slight vocal runs advertise her innate talent and the evident passion that's infused into her art. “Distant” converts the remnants of a silent cry into an effervescent hit that explores the vulnerability of loss and the frustration of acceptance.  At 15 years old, from Newbury, Massachusetts, Ava Valianti offers a balanced, impressive sound that is undoubtedly distinguishable from other indie-pop tracks. Ava’s voice is celestial and potent, her lyricism is devastatingly effective, and her instrumentals utterly align with the two. Valianti’s 2023 debut single, “Bubble Wrap” has reached thousands, along with her other popular songs, “Middle Ground”, “Laugh Track”, and “January”, with a combined 100K+ streams on Spotify. Proudly nominated for two New England Music Awards , with plays on over 150 radio stations, Valianti is steadily gaining recognition for her work. She has plans for live performances in Massachusetts and New York during early June and July, which all lead up to the anticipated release of her debut EP in the fall.  Written By Hanna Hathaway FOLLOW AVA VALIANTI: Instagram | Spotify  | TikTok  | Facebook

  • Review: "Strangers" - Tally Spear

Spear’s emotional tide draws in and floods out when reflecting on a malfunctioning relationship in new release, “Strangers”. She notes how she’s “ sour ” and the subject of the song is “ bitter ”, emphasizing a lack of complimentary flavors that represent an imbalanced relationship. This person is also “ sugar   coated ”, perhaps to hide their bitterness and tendency to play “ games ” and attempt to “ fool ” Spear. She includes contradictory imagery and action like “ let go/ just to hold on ” and “ we sit in silence/ like it’s all the rage ”  to symbolize the push and pull of a defective relationship. The track also presents with a tragic throb of familiarity, where someone Spear knew intimately is now just a stranger. Spear cries, “ I thought we would make it/ but now we’re just strangers ” serving a dull pang of disheartened longing followed by a whip of resentment. “Strangers” is a prickly, pop-rock anthem that mourns false hope and celebrates truth.  Spear’s static vocals, metallic instrumentals, and thorough textures communicate emotional injury and a potential grudge against an incompatible lover. She opens with a 2000’s-fashioned muffled whine and an exhaustive electric strum that engineers a solid bridge. This section performs calculated rests with rapport between strings and percussion, polished with minimally vibrato vocals that decorate auditory space. The chorus is lined with a high-pitched, slow riff with single note progression that confidently reverberates this part of the track. Spear reiterates her influential “ strangers ” line followed by a notable guitar solo layered with her voice in the background. With a classic punk-ish vocal belt, Spear leads the listener to an assertive ending that isolates her last word for a memorable conclusion.  UK musician, singer, and songwriter, Tally Spear is renowned for her authentic, engaging lyricism delivered by an almost-emo, pop-rock sound. With thousands of monthly listeners on Spotify, Spear shares relatable stories in a way that attracts listeners from Great Britain, Australia, and the United States. Spear’s sound is comparable to Charlotte Sands and Honey Revenge , but certainly stands in its own distinct light. Her most popular song on Spotify is “Self Confessions”, followed by “Want to Want You”. Spear also tends to display incredibly creative and stylish cover art, showcasing symbolism that corresponds with her music. • Concert Review: The Wrecks - INSIDE: Tour in Atlanta

My highlight of 2025 was decided at The Wrecks concert in Atlanta. This being my third time having the pleasure of seeing the band live, I had no doubt I would have a great time. I bought my tickets for the show back in October and have been counting down the days ever since. The band comprises four members: Nick Anderson, Billy Nally, Aaron Kelley, and Nick Schmidt, who each do a phenomenal job of showcasing their talents on stage. The show started exactly on time at 9:20 p.m. with the venue coming alive at the sound of pounding drums. Nick Anderson opened with a stunning performance of the title track from their 2022 album, "Sonder." I have been The Wrecks' number one fan since 2021, and every song sounds like I'm listening to it for the first time. Unfortunately, I got to the venue a bit late and stood in the upstairs section where there was plenty of space to see, as well as safety rails to rest when my feet started to throb. The view from my spot was perfect for arriving closer to the start of the actual show. I had never been to the Masquerade venue before and was pleased with how open and accommodating it was. At the back of the main floor were free water stations that definitely helped wake me up after my four-hour drive to Atlanta. It's much more fun to go to a concert where the band has no bad songs. A few days before the "INSIDE:" began, the band posted a video on Instagram where they revealed the official setlist. After watching the video I could feel my head exploding with excitment as all of my favorites such as: " Freaking Out ," " Out of Style ," and " Milwaulkee's Best " were shown. My excitement was cut short when the caption informed me that they would be changing their setlist every single night of the tour. However, I had nothing to worry about as all three of those songs were played at my show. My throat can still feel the lyrics. The Wrecks make a great effort to include the audience in their shows. They do an amazing job of knowing when to pause between songs. As well as Anderson's iconic journey into the crowd during the encore performance of one of their most popular tracks, "Favorite Liar." This Wrecks also showed me my first mosh pit with an appearance from a woman on the floor who called herself "two drinks." The crowd danced in circles after their declared leader as the band ran around the stage, making sure everyone was included. This concert was such a treat, and my respect for The Wrecks grows stronger with every release. If you find yourself searching for an affordable, guaranteed good time, go with The Wrecks every time. It's a sticky situation to fall in love as you feel yourself spiraling to get as much of another person's attention as you can. With the high heat of the upcoming summer, this is the perfect time to lay by the poolside and unpredictably fall in love. Once you fall under the spell, it's then time to blast new anthem by Berenice "Baby Baby (Baby)," a bubble gum alternative track that blasts you with all the riveting emotions of completely falling for someone you wish would seek you. Listeners end up sympathising with her situation but also rocking out, falling in step with the infectious rhythm. In the lyrical content, there is a dash of self-awareness in the speaker's actions as they understand how crazy this all can seem in the moment, but it's also an incredibly brave action to be so vulnerable and show the other person how devoted you are to wanting them. "Baby Baby (Baby)" thrives on the idea that passion isn't a straightforward path, and often you can find yourself swimming rapidly in circles, but there's beauty in jumping into the deep end if there's a chance to find love. • Review: "Crowded House" - Karis Taylor

All most of us want is simple love. The kind that is open, clear and established so you never question it. It’s hard to find when no one wants labels anymore, just casual behind closed door relationships. Karis Taylor wrote her new single “Crowded House” about loving someone that keeps her in the dark about their feelings. Her confession of how much she hates waiting for the answers. Karis blends storytelling with soaring synths and a guitar-driven beat. If you’re a fan of alt-pop and Gracie Abram esc lyricism then this song is for you. Karis said “Crowded House” is a delusionship anthem about wanting to love loudly, without the silly nonchalant games and what are we questions that make you spiral and lose your head. It was written and produced alongside Seth Tackaberry and has cements itself as her most triumphant release to date. Karis wanted this to be an emotional outpouring that celebrates yearning and the power of feeling deeply. Stealing moments you wish you could have any second isn’t easy, especially when it’s out of your control. “Can we cut it out, I don’t want to wait until there’s no one around, you’re all I think about.” This release brings a bolder side of Karis Taylor that she’s never shown before. “Crowded House” has a blunt vulnerability that feels healing to the deep wounds we try to avoid. Put in on blast and scream the pain away. Karis Taylor is a 21 year-old singer songwriter based in London. She’s known for her iconic indie-pop tracks that hold raw lyricism. • Review: "Runnin' High" - TheProfessR x Shivani x Outertones

Runnin’ High is synthy-pop rave material with dreamy vocals that deliver a surge of light romance through echoing lyricism. Reverberation of lyrics like “you and I” put emphasis on the two and creates an occasion that isolates them from the world. This is followed by “in the night, I need you” and an assertion of their togetherness to showcase their shared, exhilarating connection. Noting “no looking back,” and “don’t think twice,” the artists are “Runnin’ High” and charged with adrenaline for a message that shimmers with late-night enchantment given the fragility of their relationship. TheProfessR, Shivani , and Outertone provide an account of a summery love that spikes adrenaline with an upbeat melody and entrancing vocals to deliver a stellar sound. This electro-pop track has an almost EDM build-up and bridge to a bright chorus that entices a broad range of pop listeners. Layered vocals support a busy sound that nails rhythmic literacy and is, overall, catchy. “Runnin’ High” even seems to include a string instrument for pieces of the chorus, which adds balance to electric and synth instrumentals. A high-energy drumming pattern compliments organic vocal rests that contribute to the success of the track. Shivani’s nimble voice makes “Runnin’ High” a breezy song that pairs well with major chords, fast beats, and reverb. With a 3-5 second fade-out ending, this track works best using the “loop” function on most music platforms.  TheProfessR started making music when they needed a tactic to study for a finance exam. This resulted in a passion for producing and songwriting, along with being a DJ. With over half a million streams on Spotify, TheProfessR is a fresh perspective on a mix of British and South Asian cultures without conforming to genre. They are inspired by Reggaeton, AfroBeats, Afro-House, and Liquid Dnb. Their first single, Black Opium, was released in 2022 alongside their first EP “Conversations With a Crackhead”. “Runnin’ High” is already in the top 15 of Spotify’s “Best Vocal Drum & Bass”, and we are so excited to see what’s next for TheProfessR!
