  • Review: "Navy Eyes" - Midnight Til Morning

Midnight Til Morning has released their new single, “Navy Eyes.” Reminded of a partner’s navy eyes, the members of Midnight Til Morning go through a deliberation of wanting the partner in this song to tell them to stay instead of driving late at night. A metaphor of being close to breaking up, “Navy Eyes” examines why leaving a relationship is the scariest feeling to some. With the want of the relationship being bigger than the want to leave, the debate of being free to drive late in the night with looming goodbyes is a hard one. Midnight Til Morning not only makes listeners feel seen by singing about conflicting feelings about the relationship they share with a partner, but also the inability to want someone to say something without telling them yourself. “Navy Eyes” is more than just a song about debating whether or not to take a late night drive; it’s a song about whether or not their partner would stay, even if the emotional connection is there. Fearful and scared of losing the partner in the song, Midnight Til Morning captures the want of not losing their partner and wanting their partner to fight for them as well. Not “[wanting] to fall just to let it go,” Midnight Til Morning wonders if their partner cares about fighting for their relationship as much as they do. With the fear that their partner doesn’t, Midnight Til Morning settles that they should stay so their relationship can have a fighting chance, a decision that ultimately calls into question for listeners whether or not it’s worth it to stay in a relationship if there isn’t any fight to keep the relationship from their partner. Midnight Til Morning is an up-and-coming pop-rock boy band created in front of viewers in Netflix’s Building the Band . Composed of Australians Connor Smith and Mason Watts and Americans Shane Appell and Zach Newbould, Building the Band viewers got to see the formation and chemistry built between the band during their early days. With each individual of the quartet bringing their own experience from solo careers into the group, Midnight Til Morning has versatility and vocals that listeners are excited to see more from. With over 848,000 monthly listeners within their first year as a band, Midnight Til Morning is making waves in the music space. • Review: "All Is Well" - Babygirl

As summer transitions to fall we anticipate cozy songs from our favorite artist's. I can reassure all you music lovers that Babygirl does just that with her new song "All Is Well." We've been gifted a song that helps us visualize what it's like to feel safe with another person. One of my favorite lines says, "I want you eight days a week / And when it's not enough for me / I'll turn my head and see infinity." There's something so pure and sweet about knowing you have the perfect person to count on when you need the support. The cuteness overload doesn't end there, the chorus provides even more comfort and joy when it says, "Cause I can tell when you look at me that way / Everything I'm feeling, you feel the same / And all is well, is well, is well." Babygirl has set us in motion toward the fall season and I'm living for it! We're given a gentle and warm mood for the fall season, which is exactly what we need. The artist is vulnerable with us from the moment the song begins. The tone is intimate and truthful, Babygirl isn't trying to hide the emotions that are present in everyday life. As the listener we're embracing the comfort that the artist is making known to us. The lyrics help tie the emotions together making the piece whole. Lyrically, the song conveys hope, trust, and affection, which further solidifies the overall message. A big part of the safety we feel when listening comes from the tempo. Instead of a high energy, upbeat, and speedy pace we're given a soft buildup that eases us into the depth of the topic at hand. All the elements of the song come together to create a smooth-as-butter finished product. Babygirl is a Toronto-based duo. They have dubbed their wispy-voice indie-pop as "bubblegum emo." Babygirl's song "I Wish I Never Met You" released in 2018 was their first major song with almost 27 million streams on Spotify. Their debut EP "As You Wish" was released in 2016 and since then they've been on a steady incline, moving farther up the hill. If you listen to "All Is Well" and fall in love, be sure to keep an eye out for their upcoming album "Stay Here Where It's Warm." The album is set to release October 9th, making it the perfect album for plunging deep into the fall feeling with all the spooky vibes. • Review: "Lonely Days" - Shane Rennison

"Lonely Days" by Shane Rennison is a song painted with internal conflict, explaining the difficulty of letting go of a relationship that was riddled with pain. Boldly calling out their ex for uncomfortable tension in their interactions, the speaker of the song says, "I started feeling pressure the moment that you called." Allowing listeners to look within their own relationships, this song emphasizes the need to acknowledge stress and strains in their own relationships. Simultaneously understanding the need for separation and feeling the hurt of missing someone they loved, the speaker shares the way their mind lingers on their past partner. This song stands in solidarity with anyone going through post-breakup insecurity with its message: just because you can't stop thinking about someone doesn't mean they are the right person for you. This track blends an indie storytelling style with ambient dark alt-pop emotion that fans of The Weeknd will love. An engaging electronic loop of soft percussion and a twinkling high note pattern open the track before bass chords kick in, painting the song with a dark alt-pop vibe. Breathy and questioning through the verse, layered vocals expressively draw you into the scene of pressure and longing carried through the lyrics. Resonant high note patterns and Shane's haunting, ambient singing offers a deep, pensive sonic experience that is beautifully melancholy, full of romantic curiosity and lovestruck sadness. Shane Rennison is an indie pop rock artist based in New York. His expressive vocals, and talents on the electric and acoustic guitar offer audiences a dynamic and down-to-earth listening experience. He has an upcoming performance at Livingston Manor's Porch Fest , and has played shows at venues like the Catskills' The Old Foundation , Seminary Hill , and Roscoe Mountain Club . • Review: "Unready" - Swan Mack

Life sometimes throws things at you before you’re prepared. Whether that’s opportunities, relationships, or completely life-changing experiences, some of us have trouble letting go of the familiar for the new. Swan Mack’s debut single “Unready” is a song for anyone who has held on too tightly, afraid to let go of safety even though it’s far beyond time to move on. Energetic and upbeat with melancholic lyrics, “Unready” is a blend of catharsis and confession, replete with themes of fear and embracing the unfamiliar. It may be scary to leave behind everything we’ve ever known, but you never know what’s just behind the next door. “Unready” encourages us to dive into change, even if we’re completely unready for it. Don’t worry– we’ve all been there. This song is for all the anxious folks out there. You’ll know the exact feeling that “Unready” talks about when you listen to it, describing the hope that the phone will ring and ring so you don’t have to face an unwanted conversation with someone you’re not ready to face just yet. You’ll do anything to avoid that unfamiliar situation, from changing your routine to avoiding a person altogether. I just love how relatable the lyrics are– and they’ll hit especially hard for you if you’ve ever beaten around the bush just to stay far, far away from the new and frightening. Combine all of this with the song’s beautiful soundscape, and you’ve got a track that is absolutely raw and honest. It’s wrapped in light tones and bright guitars, this shining and upbeat tempo that makes you want to sing and dance along to it. There’s always something special about a track that reveals our vulnerabilities, and “Unready” is exactly that. If you’re looking for the perfect song for your autumn playlist, then this is absolutely it: soft, earnest, and catchy. Swan Mack is a Texas-born, Minnesota-based singer-songwriter whose music digs deep into the in-between moments in our lives. She combines folk and indie-pop hooks to make unforgettable tracks that tell stories to connect people. With influences from Noah Kahan and Chelsea Cutler, Swan Mack’s songs feel like a late-night call from your best friend– always honest, always unfiltered, and just a bit messy. Her debut single “Unready” dropped this September, but it’s just the first of many new releases. Her upcoming singles include “Feel Like Me”, “Call the Doctor”, and “Nobody’s Best Friend”, which will be released in 2025. • Album Review: "That's Showbiz Baby!" - JADE

“That’s Showbiz Baby!” is JADE’s first solo studio album. It was released on September 12th, 2025 under RCA Records, with single releases such as “Angel of My Dreams”, “Fantasy”, “Plastic Box”, and “FUFN (Fuck You For Now)”. This album is composed of lyrical themes such as love, relationships, and the experience of being in the music industry. JADE takes on styles typical of pop songs and adds unique elements that present something fresh to her audience. The tracks have an addictive synth and groovy drumbeats that keep the songs in listeners’ heads. She will soon embark on a tour in October of 2025 to promote this album. TRACKLIST Angel Of My Dreams IT girl FUFN (Fuck You For Now) Plastic Box Midnight Cowboy Fantasy Unconditional Self Saboteur Lip Service Headache Natural at Disaster Glitch Before You Break My Heart Silent Disco JADE was born Jade Amelia Thirlwall on December 26th, 1992. Her musical career began when she auditioned for hit TV show “X Factor” before she rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Little Mix. Little Mix became the first group to win the show. Little Mix released six studio albums and nineteen singles ended up on the UK Top-Ten Singles, and five reached number one. They went on hiatus in 2022, the same year that JADE signed a solo record deal with RCA Records. Angel Of My Dreams “Angel Of My Dreams” begins with distant vocalizations, followed by dreamy synths that create an ethereal effect over the chorus. The song suddenly shifts to a bouncing, intense beat that takes us to the verse. The chorus is restated in the same mood as the verse, and JADE demonstrates an impressive vocal range between the lower pre-chorus and higher chorus. This song is devastatingly relatable and tells the story of loving someone who doesn’t care about you. The use of the phrase "of my dreams" suggests something idealistic, but ultimately not real, adding to the tragedy of it all. IT girl This track begins with a dreamy introduction that includes powerful vocals, suddenly transitioning into a hype beat. “IT girl” is a powerful anthem about autonomy. JADE sings about  the music industry and the control it exerts over artists. It puts them in boxes, it exploits their identities, and it does it all for a bottom line. JADE rejects this process, reclaiming her identity as an artist and as a person, boldly stating that she can’t be controlled. FUFN (Fuck You For Now) “FUFN (Fuck You For Now)” begins with synths underneath low vocals. For the verse, there’s a mellow instrumental that draws listeners into the world of the track. The pre-chorus has an echoey effect on the vocals that creates a dreamy vibe while the instrumental underneath starts building in momentum in anticipation of the chorus. This song is about someone you love letting you down and upsetting you. You still love them, but right now you’re upset and you can’t ignore that.  Plastic Box Whenever you’re dating someone, it can be uncomfortable to think about the connections they had before you. You may compare yourself, wondering if the feelings they experience for you pale in comparison to the experiences they had with other people, ultimately leaving a nasty feeling of bitterness and jealousy. This is called retroactive jealousy. The track “Plastic Box” is all about retroactive jealousy. JADE uses lyrics like “cause I know you had a life before me” to acknowledge that this thought process is irrational, but sometimes it can’t be helped. Like the title suggests, sometimes you wish you could have an untouched version of your partner’s heart that hasn’t been used or held by anyone else. Midnight Cowboy “Midnight Cowboy” begins with a spoken announcement introducing what sounds like a stage performance with dreamy, ethereal vocals floating lightly underneath. This song is about embracing sensuality, with lyrics such as “giddy up, it’s the wild Wild West / And I think it’s bout time for the midnight cowboy”. The song ends in the same way it began, with an announcement to close out the performance. This song is addictive, and listeners will surely be singing along to it throughout their day after hearing it.  Fantasy “Fantasy” is another song about embracing all sides of sensuality, but has a deeper meaning that really explores all facets of the idea of intimacy. This track describes wanting to know what your partner fantasizes about and wanting to carry out those fantasies for them, with lyrics such as “I need to know what you’ve been dreaming of” to carry out that message. However, lyrics like “I wanna tell you all my secrets” speak to another level of intimacy, which is knowing your partner and your partner knowing you. Unconditional When you love someone, it hurts when they’re hurting. You want the best for them. Whenever they’re going through a hard time, you want to take them out of it and “save” them. This is what JADE describes in her track “Unconditional”. Like the name suggests, this song is about unconditional love. No matter what someone is going through, you’re going to be there for them. However, as suggested by the lyrics “If only my love could be your medicine”, you may grapple with the feelings of wanting to love them better but being unable to. You must settle for being there for them, even if they aren’t always there for themselves. Self Saboteur Millions of people experience anxiety and fear around their relationships, and each of them express this anxiety and fear in different ways. Some people lean into the fear, latching on tightly and leaving metaphorical claw marks with their requests for constant validation and security. Some people lean out of the relationship entirely, avoiding getting hurt by avoiding vulnerability. “Self Saboteur” describes the latter. JADE describes how she feels the urge to run, but rejects this feeling. She recognizes that she needs to lean into the discomfort in order to heal and to not self-sabotage herself and her happiness, with lyrics such as “I’m feeling shackled and free” depicting this uncomfortable but necessary process. Lip Service Sometimes, you want someone so bad it feels like you’re on fire. That’s the story being told by “ Lip Service” . This track is all about desire. JADE uses lyrics such as “is it the feeling of fire?” and “I just want your lip service” to demonstrate the depths that this desire takes. This track embraces sexuality and does it proudly and without shame. Headache “Headache” opens with a siren that turns into a catchy instrumental. The vocal harmonies sprinkled throughout the song are also deliciously addictive, demonstrating JADE’s vocal prowess. This song is about the experience of having someone who is there for all of you, even the parts of you that may be less shiny or desirable. You have quirks or tendencies that drive them nuts, but they stick around. It’s the wonderful feeling of having someone who can handle you, at all moments, without acting like it’s a chore. Natural at Disaster “Natural at Disaster” is about trying to heal someone with love and getting hurt in the process. The sad truth is that some people don’t want to get better. This leads to them siphoning off of your energy and draining you of your light. JADE uses the phrases “everything you touch turns to ashes” and “you’re stuck in your ways forever” as evidence of how someone keeps making choices and bad decisions that lead them to need saving rather than making a decision that will actively improve their life. Glitch There are some relationships that you know are bad for you. They hold you back, they’re constantly criticizing you, and you feel like a different person when you’re around them- in a bad way. That’s what JADE talks about in “Glitch”. She uses lyrics such as “How you keep killing my ambition” and “always got me feeling like I’m less than” to illustrate how the relationship is toxic and dulls her shine, and ultimately why it needs to end.  Before You Break My Heart “Before You Break My Heart” demonstrates a devastating development where someone you love is starting to make mistreatment of you a habit. However, you still love them. JADE uses lyrics such as “you’re the one who inspired all my love songs” and “will you tell me that I’m worth your love” to illustrate how she still values the person who is starting to let her down, and how she wants things to work out Silent Disco “Silent Disco” begins with dreamy vocalizations and adlibs. This song is all about making a special connection with someone. With lyrics such as “might look a little stupid to them, but to us it’s something” and “but I pick you always”, “Silent Disco” tells the story of having something private but special and unique. Even if those on the outside don’t understand, it doesn’t matter. The ethereal vocals suggest a trancelike state in relationships that feel too good to be true. In “That’s Showbiz Baby!”, JADE experiments with the pop genre, pushing it to its limits while remaining tasteful and artistically engaging. These tracks are absolutely addictive, and I can’t get enough of them. While writing this article, I couldn’t get two out of my head. “Midnight Cowboy” is deliciously catchy, and I can’t get enough of it. “Angel of My Dreams” is genuinely beautiful and demonstrates musical prowess that is evidence of a true artist. It is truly the perfect song to begin this album and hook audiences into her story immediately. I excitedly await more of JADE’s solo projects, but until then, I have a fantastic selection of songs to enjoy for the time being. • Album Review: "Obscentra" - Alessiah

Singer/Songwriter, Alessiah released her long-awaited debut album, "Obscentra", marking her transition into adulthood and showing off the growth within her sound. TRACKLIST loop - intro made you cry fuck all the... best friends call me by your name deep end (feat. Tobi Ibitoye) the fate fantasy addicted hot like this strawberry ice cream red lights boy toy girls - bonus track (feat. RYAA & Luana Genevieve) Alessiah has been in the entertainment industry for the past eight years, but officially released her first single, "Hurricane" in 2020. Throughout the past five years, she's been releasing singles and gaining a loyal global audience with her youthful, energetic sound. Her big breakthrough was her collaboration release with Moldovan Singer/Songwriter Mark Stam , with their own take on the Romanian poem by Yefim Krimerman , "De ce plang chitarele" which has over 200k streams on Spotify alone. After years of releasing singles and growing into her artistry, Alessiah decided it was time for a full body of work. Just in time for her to turn 18, Alessiah's debut album, "Obscentra" is not only her coming-of-age story, but shows just how much her songwriting and style has matured as well throughout her already long-lived career. Let's dive into these tracks and see what she has in store for us! loop - intro We start with an eerie, haunting intro that does exactly what it's titled. It has a super electronic soundscape that loops, with a dystopian atmosphere filled with beeping synths and heavy bass. There's a heavily reverbed, distorted British male voice speaking to us, as if reading our minds in an annoyed tone. We're young, reckless kids who tell ourselves we are gonna break the cycle of getting our heartbroken or being in the same toxic routine; but it seems like even when we're so close, we end up back to where it all began, starting the loop all over again. made you cry Next, we have "made you cry" which was the leading single released this year in anticipation for the album release and is a fan favorite song with over 100k streams on Spotify alone. "made you cry" feels like that kind of relationship that you know is bad for you, but you just can't let it go. It's constant pushing and pulling, and your partner is someone who doesn't like to hear the truth or else it hurts their feelings. Alessiah sings "if I made you cry, I did it 'cause I love you". The soundscape holds a dark-pop tone, keeping it minimalistic with a creeping groove and beat, but a heavy bass to add some RnB flare. fuck all the... "fuck all the..." is just as addicting to the ear as the love that Alessiah is singing about in the song. It has a stomping beat and a groove that is irresistible to move to. The production features a funky mixture of synths and guitar as well, making it perfect for a club or dance setting. "fuck all the..." is about that point in a relationship when it's not just love or lust anymore - it becomes a full on addiction that isn't good for you. They're literally like a drug that you crave, and they're destructive to your health. You're starting to be reckless with yourself, your morals and your personal life just to be with them. best friends You know how they always say "marry your best friend"? Well Alessiah's song "best friends" slows things down for us, starting as an acoustic ballad about having that best friend dynamic within a romantic relationship, and wishing to have that with someone you have feelings for, even if they don't feel the same way. The sound quality is more lo-fi, giving you a chance to hear Alessiah sing raw. Her vocals are soft and gentle as she shows off her falsetto. The soundscape builds slightly with alt. pop elements, reminiscent of Billie Eilish . Alessiah sings stunningly in the last chorus with only piano to back her up, and then the song takes a complete 180 for the outro, and you don't even realize it's the same song. Taking a big sigh before going into a badass electronic breakdown, Alessiah sings in sensual conversational tone while a heavy EDM instrumental backs her up. call me by your name Have you ever let yourself get down by the fact that someone else has the life that you want? You lie awake at night, wishing you could be them instead of loving yourself for who you are. They've got the romance, the looks, the job, the house... it's just unbearably unfair to have to even be around them. In "call me by your name", Alessiah sings of obsessing over someone else, saying "call me by your name, I'll call you by mine". The beat has a hip-hop / RnB influence with dark synths and telephone play in the production. The chorus is really catchy, so fair warning that it'll get suck in your head! deep end (feat. Tobi Ibitoye) "deep end" is a dark, emotional duet between Alessiah and Season 5 The Voice of Romania finalist, Tobi Ibitoye . Featuring haunting, operatic harmonies between the two vocalists for the most stunning hook you've ever heard, "deep end" is a song about feeling like you're drowning within the aftermath of heartbreak when you lose a relationship. Even if it was toxic, sometimes it takes a while to pull yourself out of the dark and deep hole that they've put you in. The soundscape has a heavy beat and thrilling synths to accompany the extremely poetic lyrics. the fate "the fate", takes a sensual, experimental approach to electronic pop, with a heavy, popping bass and distorted synths. Alessiah sings with some blues in the melodic structure, adding a little bit of soul and sass to the atmosphere. "the fate" tells a story of an ex who lingers around just a little too much, but Alessiah makes it very clear that she's not interested in him playing with her feelings - and she certainly doesn't need him in her life anymore. fantasy "fantasy" is a super unique, groovy song that'll have you dancing around and hyping yourself up. This confident, self-empowering song is about when that person you were interested in didn't see what they had when they had it, but you know exactly what you're worth - so when they're calling you up later, you've already moved on. "fantasy" has such a hypnotising soundscape, with filtered vocals that perfectly blend in with it's psychedelic, club aesthetic and production style. addicted "addicted" was the second official single release in anticipation for the release of this album. With a synth-bass riff to get you hooked on the groove right off the bat, "addicted", is quite... addicting. Featuring a bridge with an old-school rap, this song is about having a cheating lover that has hurt you beyond belief, but there's something inside you that refuses to let go. However, in doing so, they now think they they can get away with anything and they keep hurting you over and over again. Alessiah sings, "addicted to the chaos, addicted to the fall, I don’t need no saving but I do want it all". Alessiah's voice in this song is different from others as she sings with a super rich tone, full of passion. hot like this As Alessiah's third single release pre-album, "hot like this" was written to be a self-worth anthem, full of confidence and closure for anyone out there needing to close the door on a relationship for good. Know the hottie and baddie you are, and blast this banger in the car. "hot like this" has bright and sexy pop vocals from Alessiah, mixed with a nostalgic 2000's RnB and contemporary soul rhythm and production. strawberry ice cream CAUTION - DANGEROUSLY CATCHY SONG AHEAD. "strawberry ice cream" is crafted to get stuck in your head, so don't say I didn't warn you. Immediately it starts with a funky bass and soon brings in a stomping beat. The hook features a spoken vocal with a rhythm that is undeniably groovy. The production is both nostalgic and modernly innovative to be unique and catch your ear. "strawberry ice cream" is a cute, quirky and flirty song about having a dangerous love interest but not caring. red lights "red lights" is all about being unphased and in control. Alessiah isn't letting anyone or anything bother her, and is confident in herself and her choices. Everyone else's loss is her gain. With a heavy production and instrumentation, Alessiah sings with a conversational tone. There's a Carnatic vibe in the riffs and instrumental choices between the strings and horns, giving it a diverse and sensual atmosphere. boy toy Ah! She bites! "boy toy" is about how men think they're big and strong until they meet a powerful woman like Alessiah, who shows them how inadequate they really are. This sensual and mysterious song has a stomp and clap beat, with a vibe that is perfect for a club atmosphere. It's pop perfection, with a hook that will inevitably get stuck in your head. Similar to "red lights", it has a Carnatic type of scale in the melody and in some of the riffs, giving it an ethnic feel and even more of a mystifying tone. Now, if we were to listen to the standard album, this would be the last track, which is a fantastic, energetic outro. However... girls - bonus track (feat. RYAA & Luana Genevieve) We are in fact including the incredible bonus track featuring artists RYAA and Luana Genevieve . This bisexual anthem is super hype. With sensual, sexy layered vocals and a super heavy instrumental production inspired by nostalgic 2000's RnB, "girls" will definitely have you in your feels, whether you like girls or boys. The whole time I was listening to Alessiah's debut album, all I could think was how I haven't heard anything like it before - and I mean that in the best way possible. Alessiah has managed to create a style and sound that is completely and uniquely her own at barely the age of 18 years old, and that is so impressive. Not only that, but it's music that is passionate, emotional and relatable. They're songs that can connect with people on all sorts of levels. The maturity and distinguished effort put into this album are already beyond Alessiah's years, but she's already said it herself that this is still only the beginning for her. That being said, I can only be extremely excited for her future and what is yet to come. • Review: "All Over The Place" - Jordie

Jordie’s new single, All Over The Place, is an upbeat adult contemporary, pop song about romance. It’s plain and simple. You want to sleep with someone you find attractive. I think many of us can relate to that insatiable desire. Have you ever heard of the 16 human desires? I’m not going to list them all, but one of them is romance. Studies have shown it is one of the major things that drives human behavior and influences our decisions. Well, I like to think that I taught you all something new today, but I don't think I did. Anyway, let’s just move on… All Over The Place packs a punch and makes a lasting impression in just 2 minutes and 25 seconds. It immediately grabbed my attention with a robot-like vocal glitch effect which fit the song’s overall unique sound. In the chorus, she sings “I wanna be in your head, on your bed, all over the place. I want you to lose your breath everywhere when you envision my face.” There are explicit lyrics so will hear inappropriate language, but it works so well. I absolutely love explicit music (as long as it’s not every single word) and sexy music because I love the edginess. It’s giving major pop girl vibes and I am here for it! Jordie is a musician based in Los Angeles, California known for her infectious, rhythmic melody and dynamic, emotional lyricism. She is influenced by many artists including Rihanna , Marc E. Bassy , and Maroon 5 . Her music is authentic and genuine having dealt with anxiety, relationships, and any other kind of emotion you can think of.  If you’re interested in hearing more from her, she released two other songs, “ Cry Again ” and “ Veins ”, this year, but her entire discography dates back to 2023. • Review: "Venus" - Luna Zol

Luna Zol’s debut single, Venus, is a mid tempo alternative pop song about contemplating walking away from a toxic relationship. In this case, she was dating someone who abused substances. First of all, I want to commend her for candidly talking about this difficult period in her life. It’s very bold of her to be so vulnerable in her debut. In general, I think people, especially women, are taught to stay in a relationship and are expected to “fix” others. Just like others who have walked in her shoes before, they had to learn that you can’t save someone else. Venus starts with a somber piano that creates a dark atmosphere coupled with dark lyrics. In the second verse, she sings “Bottles as close as skylight. Red pill, blue pill. All you do is running from your mind. I can’t get inside.” In the chorus, she sings “Even at night, under the stars, blind me. I was the one giving you all my heat. The early morning touch, but Venus is too much.” The lyrics are dark and sad, but they describe the depressing situation very well. In addition to vivid imagery, I love the way her voice flows through the song. It’s very emotional so have a box of tissues next to you while you listen. Luna Zol is a musician who relocated to Vienna, Austria to create music with Magnus Thomson. You’ve probably heard of her TikTok account, Lunazlullaby. It’s exactly what it sounds like. She would sing people to sleep every night all over the world. If you were suffering from mental health issues keeping you awake at night, you could tune in to hear her playing intimate piano ballads. She speaks to a lot of people and their experiences and provides healing and transformation for the mental health community. This is the exact type of artist I believe you all will love and connect with. Written By Jazz FOLLOW LUNA ZOL: Spotify | Instagram  | YouTube

  • Review: "disassociated" - Cheska Moore

Feelings are A LOT. Sometimes too much to handle. If you’ve ever been in that mindset where you just stop feeling due to so much going on (and I’ve been there, trust me!), I have a song for you! Cheska Moore’s newest single “disassociated”, beautifully tells of that moment when the feels get too overwhelming and you, well, disassociate. The song embodies the chaotic numbness that haunts you while you wander. Tells about the struggle in a raw yet captivating track. If you feel like this and need something that says “I feel you”, this song will have your back! This song is such a beautiful composure, right off the bat. The layers of vocals and harmonies is a fun entrance that continues to build. 3 Along with the groovy bass, a tension builds all the way to the chorus. And then, it drops right before the chorus. 5 The eeriness is added by a desolate silence in the middle of lines, which creates a dial-up internet type of sound. Throughout the song, various synths and bass is added to create more build-up, with electronic-pop elements as well. Then, when the tension is at it’s peak, a full-blown EDM-drop is released, like a scream of relief. There is a loop that this song creates, where you can tie the beginning to the end and relive the song over and over for that one moment. One feeling. In my opinion, the song really does speak on the title and is a perfect rendition of that specific feeling. Cheska Moore is a South London artist, and has been known for her alternative dark-pop. • Review: "Ghost House" - Lilia Asha

Lilia Asha, a young artist, whose talent goes beyond her age, discusses the feeling of being possessed by loss and haunted by the life that used to exist. "Ghost House" combines all that gets left behind when time moves forward, whether it's people, a place, or a dream. All that remains is a memory of the joy that was once there. The song combines pain with fear, and Lilia Asha's voice is anguished with the change. What works so well with "Ghost House" is that it tackles multiple issues that won't leave the speaker's brain. The nuance of "Ghost House" shows a level of complexity in the emotional content this song provides. Lilia Asha absolutely embodies this song, and it's a level of emotional transparency that is so rare in an artist so young. What first stands out when you listen to "Ghost House" is just how eerie it sounds. As soon as you press play it does feel like walking into a haunted home. Throughout "Ghost House" there's a connection to childhood fantasies, memories of wishing for magical fairytales. These memories portray growth, and how much can be lost when one grows up. There's also a clear picture of the ghosts left behind when people leave us or when we leave people. Whether it's literal or metaphorical death, it's a feeling we all know, and Lilia Asha does a great job in creating a song that resonates with the audience. There's something very interesting about the production on this track. It's very dark, and it does feel like a horror film. The ambiance is incredibly sinister, but that doesn't mean it isn't beautiful. That piano tugs at your heartstrings, and as the song progresses it starts to less like walking into a film and more like skimming through a scrapbook. During the entirety of "Ghost House," Lilia Asha's voice never tires of emotional torment, and her singing feels incredibly earnest of these feelings of loss. "Ghost House" holds you tight and compels you to reminisce on what time has taken from you, and it's a track you'll find haunts you for a long time. Lilia Asha is a 13-year-old artist that is currently based in Shanghai. Her musical journey began at the age of 6 where she found herself performing at talent shows and taking music lessons. At the age of 8 she won in the International Category at the Song Academy's Young Songwriter Competition. Since then she has been working hard on her career, becoming a more skilled musician. She has been in competitions and bands, and has also done solo performances. Her debut single "Rae" also shows the level of emotional vulnerability that "Ghost House" has. It's amazing to see someone so young that has accomplished so much. Lilia Asha clearly loves what she does so much and we can expect that she will only continue to grow as an artist and accomplish so much more. • Review: "GAME BOY" - Haunter

Just in time for the end of summer, Haunter have released their latest single, "GAME BOY," reminiscing over summer love and nostalgic nights. The song comes as part of a bigger project, teasing what you'll hear when diving into their debut EP of the same name. Telling a story over the course of 6 epic tracks, "GAME BOY" sets the stage with lighthearted, wistful memories of a playful love, full of references to the thrill of gaming and a longing to go back to late-night summer adventures. Joining "GAME BOY" on this emotional rollercoaster of an EP are the tracks "CATCH ME IF YOU CAN," "STRANGERS," "CITY BOYS x PRETTY GIRLS," "UNTOUCHABLE," and "UNTOUCHABLE - Demitri Medina Remix." A collaborative effort with the band, "GAME BOY" was co-written and produced by Tyler Smyth , a prolific songwriter, producer, and musician who helped Haunter bring the heat with this addictive candy-coated pop-rock single. The adrenaline-inducing track also fuses elements of electropop and dance-pop in with its pop-rock core, giving listeners a taste of Haunter's carefully crafted, irresistible sound. A highlight of Haunter's performance, Lucy LeNoir's vocals capture the show as the artist proves she can hang with some of the best in the game, like Honey Revenge 's Devin Papadol or Paramore's Hayley Williams . Complete with energetic hooks, thrilling guitar riffs, and dazzling synths, "GAME BOY" is certainly a single pop enthusiasts don't want to miss. A combination of former emo kids and a metalhead, Haunter is a four-piece band consisting of members Lucy LeNoir (vocals), Enoma Asowata (guitars/synths), Mark Schroeder (bass), and Mike Ray (guitars/synth/vocals). The band we know and love today formed after a chance encounter at a House of Blues show in Houston, where Asowata saw LeNoir onstage and knew they were destined to create musical magic together. Following the band's conception, Haunter took a leap of faith and embarked on a journey of sharing demos, writing songs, and taking a cross-country trip to LA to work with Tyler Smyth. Along the way, Haunter have worked diligently to find themselves and stay true to the music they want to make. Reflecting on who they are today, Asowata shared, "We stopped pretending to be a ‘pop band’ and just started being us. Slightly off-center, rough around the edges, and completely real." • Review: "Last Name" - Cali Tucker

Rising country star Cali Tucker is back with her latest single, “Last Name.” In traditional Cali fashion, the track is aspirational, uplifting, and filled with attitude. Paired with a music video that takes a twist on the classic Cinderella story, “Last Name” is a women’s empowerment anthem of doing it for yourself. The music video concept, in the words of Cali,is about a “Cinderella [who] refuses to stay silent, standing up for herself and proving that anyone can rise above challenges to chase their dreams.” “Last Name” is a reminder for all women out there that they aren’t just someone else’s wife or daughter, but their own person who can do anything they strive for. It’s the perfect pick-me-up song when you need a reminder that you are that girl. With its important message and irresistible groove, “Last Name” cements Cali as one of the most exciting country singers right now. “Last Name” is a celebration of the often underappreciated work of women everywhere. Just the fact that the music video spotlights Cali’s mother, legendary hitmaker LaCosta Tucker, as her fairy godmother, highlights how much the song is a love letter to women worldwide. Cali’s songwriting packs so much personality. The lyrics are equal parts powerful and sassy. With lines like “you won’t have a choice but to clap when I win, success will be my revenge,” there is a manifestative nature to Cali’s music. It’s a song that declares success is coming, while carrying an attitude that matches that energy perfectly. No one else but Cali could create a track as punchy and profound as “Last Name.” Cali Tucker has been in the music scene her entire life. Her last name is nothing short of royalty in the country sphere, and she has worked hard to grow a career of her own. The singer-songwriter first gained notoriety after working under Blake Shelton’s team on The Voice.
