- Review: "Heaven Underground" - Agnes Hustler x Leyonclou
" One year hotter than the other." It's no secret that our planet is getting destroyed more and more each day. Climate change is a serious issue, but yet a lot of us choose to ignore it. Even if we wanted to do something about it, it would be nearly impossible without the funding and raising awareness. There will come a time where it's impossible to ignore if we don't do something to heal our world. 'Heaven Underground' by Swedish indie artists Agnes Hustler and Leyonclou is a rebellious song that stands up to the rich and powerful who could care less what happens to the common person. If the world ends, there is no heaven underground; but long they're making money, they will never consider what is actually important. But why does money determine your worth and your right to be alive? Greed kills, and Agnes & Leyonclou are fed up. Dressed in suits, the duo stick it to the man in their high energy music video. Mixing both of their styles and influences of alt-pop and punk rock, 'Heaven Underground' gives off a early 2000's nostalgic punk-pop band vibe, reminiscent of Paramore and Fall Out Boy. Each of their unique vocal styles - Agnes' soul and strength and Leyonclou's brightness and effortless range - blend so well together to create the captivating nature of this song. The melody features perfect 5th's and major 6th's that have you wanting to sing along, which is exactly what they want you to feel. You'll find yourself getting this song stuck in your head and singing it through out the day until the meaning of it sticks. The power of this song could change your perspective of the state of the world. Agnes Hustler is a Swedish independent pop artist, songwriter and creator currently based in Stockholm. Releasing music since 2019, Agnes has stated that 'Heaven Underground' is one of her favorite and most important songs. In 2022 alone, she released 4 singles and a remix. 'Heaven Underground' is her first song 2023 and I can't wait to see what else she has in store. Leyonclou also reigns from Sweden as an independent singer-songwriter who is inspired by legendary names like Lady Gaga and Paramore. Although she's only officially released 3 songs including this collaboration with Agnes, her music career started a really young age and she has been writing songs since she was 7 years old. Her official debut single released in 2021, 'Liquor Excuses' gained over 300,000 streams of Spotify. She has studied at quite a few critically acclaimed songwriting school and has toured as a back-up singer with one of Scandinavia's biggest artists, Laleh. Both of these artists are one to watch as we continue to witness their musical journeys flourish. Written By Kaitlyn Nicole FOLLOW AGNES: FOLLOW LEYONCLOU:
- Review: "Time After Time" - Pascal Letoublon x ILIRA
Pascal Letoublon takes his charming production tactics and collaborates with powerhouse singer/songwriter, ILIRA, on their newest dance-pop single “Time After Time.” The result is a club anthem, filled with lyrical promises to be there for someone when they need them the most. Melodious, yet intense, the song is like butter; smooth and flavorful with a hint of sweetness. Rolling off the tongue, ILIRA’s lyrics melt the heart through their depth about longing to be a loyal friend and lover—her voice being just as devoted to the passion of the track as the lyrics. Pascal Letoublon adds flavor to the mix by doing what he does best: elevating the message of the song with his spellbinding production. “Time After Time” is EDM magic at its finest, with the constant buildup of the layered instrumental track and captivating vocals—picking the song’s story up and making it danceable. Beginning with the heart of the song, ILIRA sings the chorus, instantly capturing the audience’s attention from the first word, “When your head and heart are saying no/ Be there to hold you through the night/ I’ll be there by your side/ Time after time.” Loyal devotion and a glass half full optimism gives the single a soft edge, despite its amplified instrumentation. The lyrics and music work together to create a heartfelt track, pumping energetic waves throughout the veins of the song while upholding a magnetic beat that keeps its listener’s attention intact. Brimming with punchy beats and stimulating electronica chords, “Time After Time” has the charisma to enchant those most fortunate to listen. Born in Eastern France, Pascal Letoublon is a musical producer, best known for his viral hit single, “Friendships.” This song won him 75 million views on YouTube, 40 million streams and a spot in the Shazam Global charts for almost two years. Since signing with Universal in 2019, Pascal has taken time to meticulously craft his sound and has done so with newest releases such as, “Fall in Love” and of course, “Time After Time.” With his skyrocketed fame, Pascal Letoublon is the golden boy of dance music and has a brilliant future ahead of him. His “Time After Time” collaborator, Ilira Gashi, known for her stage name ILIRA, is also a glamorous singer/songwriter born and raised in Switzerland, now based out of Berlin, Germany. Introducing herself into the music world, ILIRA and her band, The Colors, competed in a pre-selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. Their song came in 3rd place, encouraging ILIRA to move to Germany where she signed a publishing deal with Sony. From there, she signed a label deal with Four Music in 2018, releasing her debut track “Whisper My Name,” which included two charting singles. Over the years, she has continued releasing hits, including her new collaboration with Pascal Letoublon, proving she is an artist worth keeping on your radar. - Interview: "Faraway Lover" - Zara Moana
You’re really bringing back an iconic era of 90s R&B with this new single “Faraway Lover”, it’s incredible! What was the inspiration behind this new track? Zara: Thank you so much. The song is influenced by my love for 90s R&B as well! I wanted the song to feel like summer and transport listeners to the tropics. I actually first began writing this song as a teenager when I was helping clean out my mum’s wardrobe. I found a poem she wrote from a school project she completed in the 90s. It felt so nostalgic, I was quickly inspired to write chords, lyrics, and transform it into an upbeat r&b song. How did you get your start in music? Zara: I have been involved in music since an early age and I have always loved performing. Over the years I have learnt piano, bass, double bass and guitar. I fell in love with singing and playing acoustic guitar. Since the age of 14 I have been regularly performing acoustic gigs at venues that include bars, corporate functions, breweries, cafes, weddings and private events. I play covers that include favourites from different decades and genres. In recent years I have begun releasing my own original music as an independent artist. I was checking out your IG and stumbled on your art page, and I am so impressed by the work you and your mom do! Can you share more about how this all came to be and what you both do over there? Zara: Thank you so much! Absolutely, my mum and I started an Instagram page called Aurora Art Co for our artwork back in 2020 when I was completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Since we started that instagram account we have been lucky enough to receive so much support for our artwork. Some highlights for us have been opening our gallery and running classes/workshops, launching our art print collection, being featured on channel 9’s ‘The Block’, and collaborating with different brands. Last year our artwork was featured on clothing with a slow fashion brand called ‘Arlo and Olive’. We also collaborated with Dr Lewinns and our artwork was featured on their skincare gift boxes which are sold in chemists across Australia. If you could have dinner with any artist in the world, who would you pick and why? Zara: That is a tough decision to narrow it down to one artist! If I could pick one artist it would be Alicia Keys. She is a strong woman of colour who I have looked up to since I was a little girl. Her incredible talent and passion in her music has inspired me across my life and through my music. She is one of the reasons I have pursued a career in music. You’ve performed some awesome gigs in your career from what I can see, so which one has been your favorite so far? Zara: I have been really lucky to play some great solo gigs at different venues over the years! My favourite gigs are any performances with an interactive crowd that will dance and sing along to the music. I have really enjoyed playing at corporate functions too for Melbourne Victory Football Club and for the AFL ANZAC day function in 2022. I am so impressed by your talent, in many different facets, and everything you’ve done so far! What can we expect to see or hear next from you? :) Zara: Thank you so much! You can expect to see more music and accompanying art collections. Since I am a multidisciplinary artist I aim to create artwork and music that are an extension of myself and experiences. I aim to play more gigs this year and hopefully release an EP with my original songs too. Interviewed By Sarah Curry FOLLOW ZARA:
- Review: "Cheap Silver Lining" (feat. Luke Sital-Singh) - LULLANAS
We're all guilty of overthinking at some point in our lives. Especially when you've experienced trauma from past relationships, it's hard not to be constantly afraid that you could mess it up again with someone else. They could look at you the wrong way and you'd start to feel like they're losing interest in you. 'Cheap Silver Lining' by LULLANAS highlights the thoughts we rummage through when you're overthinking subtle changes in a relationship. You're stuck thinking, "Are they mad at me? Did I do something they didn't like? Why do I always screw everything up? Do they still want me?". Sometimes we just have to take a deep breath, tuck away our insecurities and realize the special connection that we have with someone. Mixed with a folk themed acoustic guitar and a Foster The People reminiscent bass, this indie pop track pulls you in instantly. Soft vocals of the sisterly duo bring their poetic lyrics to life. This song was co-written and produced by acclaimed artist Luke Sital-Singh, who LULLANAS invited to sing harmonies on the track, ultimately creating the perfect outcome of ethereal harmonies and an undeniably catchy groove. The style of this song reminds me of something that would be a part of The Hunger Games movie series soundtrack with it's plucked acoustic strings and the emotionally light and airy vocals, additionally combined with haunting harmonies and phrases ending in minor chords. LULLANAS is a duo project by twin sisters Atisha and Nishita Lulla. Raised in Pennsylvania, the sisters grew up listening to a vast variety of music all the way from The Beatles to Shania Twain; but their true musical journey all started with the simple gift of a guitar from their dad when the girls were headed off to college. The Lulla twins used music to get through their most stressful times, particularly when they were doing Summer internships in New York City. They found themselves performing anywhere and everywhere that they could if they were given the chance. They've even performed in the produce section at a Whole Foods; how many artists get to say that?! Their career together changed forever when the girls went to India to visit their grandmother where they were given the chance to record one of their songs in a studio. Their debut single, 'Don't Say', has now surpassed over 3 million streams on Spotify since it's release. The girls hold onto a solid 500,000+ monthly listeners given they haven't released anything since 2021. But they are coming back strong in 2023 with 'Cheap Silver Lining' and much more music to come. - Review: "Crocodile" (feat. Kieran) - Baby Pink
In her newest single, "Crocodile," Baby Pink links with singer-songwriter Kieran to create a sense of comfort after ending a deceitful relationship in her real life. Kieran, as the feature in the song, essentially plays the rebound who suggests he has more to offer Baby Pink than her previous romantic partner. Being fed up with her ex, Pink entertains the possibility of Kieran being a better fit, which could explain her constant efforts to communicate with him and build a stronger connection. However, Pink's ex seems confident their relationship isn't over, creating a barrier between her and her chance at finding new love. Although, she does understand that solidifying her relationship with Kieran as a couple could officially sever ties with her old flame. And in "Crocodile," Baby Pink and Kieran share their curiosity about what it could be like if they finally decide to take that leap. “Crocodile” by Baby Pink, featuring Kieran, is an average-length track spanning three minutes and thirty-eight seconds. Within eight seconds of listening, the tone is clear, with a distorted ambiance backing a voice recording that eventually leads into a guitar and percussion-filled instrumental. Once introduced to Kieran singing on the track, the purpose behind the collaboration makes sense. Aside from Baby Pink and Kieran being friends, their voices blend well together. But gluing the song together is the overall arrangement, which finds a way to be precise in creating the necessary space for each musical part and driving the track forward. If the upcoming music releases by Baby Pink are as well put together as the single, then her EP launch is a project to be excited about this year. Baby Pink is an independent music artist from East London, United Kingdom. Her sound is known for blending various musical genres, from Electronic to Hip-Hop and Neo Soul. In 2018, Baby Pink began releasing music on streaming services with her single "Timing." And as of 2023, she has released ten singles, some of them included in her Ego Sun Fire Rising EP. Being recognized on platforms including BBC and POM, Baby Pink has become a familiar face in the music industry. But with news of her EP launch set for February, Baby Pink isn't shying away from any opportunity to show up and show out. Written By Jeffrey Ade FOLLOW BABY PINK: FOLLOW KIERAN:
- Review: "Miss You in New York" - Jaime Deraz
What started off as a love note to the city her relationship bloomed in, has become a colorless letter to listeners of the relationship that has now wilted. In her electrifying alternative pop single, “Miss You in New York,” Jaime Deraz dwells on a past relationship that both started and ended in her beloved city, New York. From kissing on the train and sharing cigarettes walking in Greenwich Village, to people watching alone on the High Line, the song is a reminiscent journey through a relationship that once was. Its powerful first pre-chorus, “Cus this city lost its color/ I see everything in black and white/ We were blinded by each other/ Couldn’t see all of the exit signs,” encapsulates the feeling of falling head first for someone in different places, not realizing that one day those places will hold a chrysalis of memories you can’t forget. “Miss You in New York” is a trip through the city, with a musical track that is as bittersweet as the core of the colorful kaleidoscopic Big Apple. “Miss You in New York” is consistently hit by maverick waves of electric synth beams, illuminating the song’s beautiful lyrical melancholy throughout the entirety of the track, “Shared love for you but you had to spend it/ Now I’m broke and on the floor/ Now I miss you in New York.” These words are empowered by the music and are infiltrated to the listener’s heart through Jaime Deraz’s sweet and smooth alto voice. Though the music and lyrics act as polar opposites, there’s something in the synthetic production that has a hint of an optimistic tone. Yes, lyrically she misses him in New York, but there’s hope in the upbeat, heart-pounding drums that the city of lights will penetrate through her heart and heal it for good. Jaime Deraz is a singer/songwriter from Long Island, who has the gift of crafting emotionally raw lyrics based on her real-life experiences. Her emotional pull doesn’t only come from romantic relationships, but also from her familial relationships. Once as a caretaker for her mom who struggles with a motor neuron disease, Jaime takes her emotional pain and vents through her music. As an influential artist within the music industry, Jaime Deraz has released 150 tracks since 2019 with an over 17 million total stream build-up. Her music has been featured on many Spotify editorials like Dance Rising, New Music Friday Deutschland and New Music Friday Switzerland. Her musical impact doesn’t only stop at being featured on global editorials and releasing songs with major labels, but she also has a foot in the corporate door. Having co-founded the record label, faded BLUE, Jaime also acts as an executive director of the company. With her prestigious accomplishments, Jaime Deraz is the perfect example of what it means to use your platform to be a positive influence. Her hope for her music to reach people around the world and act as an outlet for those who have experienced emotional trauma is just the icing on the cake. - Review: "The One" - Tom Speight
The pain of losing someone special is an awful feeling. Heartbreak is a pain so real it's hard to express with words. Tom Speight’s newest release, "The One”, is a ballad that completely encapsulates this feeling. “The One” is a wildcard song. Though the lyrics are incredibly heart-wrenching they are juxtaposed with a haunting but lively indie pop instrumental that creates a dramatic soundscape for you to nestle into. This track hits all the nails on the head. It's lyrically intense and has the vocals to match. Tom's artistry is uplifted by the wonderfully talented Carey Willetts who assisted in producing the song. Tom and Carey’s work led to the mixing of an incredibly impactful song. The lyrics of this song are written in such a captivating manner. Tom's knack for lyricism does not go unnoticed in this track. Throughout the song, he paints a picture of himself going back and forth with his lover. Simultaneously begging for the relationship to last while condemning this person for ending it. One of many lyrics that showcase a bit of this push and pull is found in the second verse. “How could you run away with the light // left me in the dark // stealing my heart.” These lyrics are so smart in the fact that they mirror a traditional love song perfectly. The metaphor of this person running away with light is not only referring to the “light” love brings into your life but also references his partner in this way. This person he loved dearly is his light and without them, he is left in the dark. Left without love, left without "the one." Tom also uses the typical love song trope of “you stole my heart” however, completely flips it on its head. Stealing a heart in this context alludes to the idea that maybe stealing someone's heart isn’t that great. Having great love in your life does not mean having something stolen from you; it means sharing something with someone else. Tom makes this point loud and clear with this verse. His lover stole his heart and that's not something “The One” would do. Tom Speight is a UK-based singer/songwriter who has already made quite a name for himself in the UK pop scene. His work has been used in a handful of popular shows and movies such as To All the Boys and Sex Lives of College Girls . He is continuing to set fire to the music scene with his unique take on the indie pop sound with two albums already out we can expect more from this incredible talent. - Review: "Clean Cut" - BIZZY
Let's face it. Love is freakin' tough, and probably one of the most difficult feelings to deal with. One minute you think someone is the love of your life, and the next they're breaking your heart. When you're really deeply in love with someone, it can be really hard to let them go even when you know it's time to. Those first few weeks, or sometimes months, being without that person who used to bring you happiness and comfort are the hardest. How do you go from talking to someone everyday, to never talking to them ever again? You have to keep yourself away from your phone before you mess up and regretfully text them. Staying strong and distracting yourself is the only option you have. "Clean Cut" by BIZZY is the ultimate sad-girl anthem for all of us who have been hurt by someone we once trusted and called our best friend. Written with her friends, Jules and Chey, on a rainy day in their living room, BIZZY said "let's make the most relatable and sad break up song ever". Not literally, but that's what I imagine she said. Lined with soft finger-plucked strings on guitar throughout song, the song builds until you can't help but scream the lyrics along with BIZZY's raw and emotional vocals. I've always said you know it's a good song when you feel like the song was written for you, and that's exactly what 'Clean Cut' does. The poetic, vulnerable and relatable lyrics are guaranteed to get stuck in your head. This will become your go-to song to put on repeat when you need a good cry, or you need reminded not to call the person who made you sad in the first place. BIZZY is a singer-songwriter from Maryland who is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Inspired by incredible talents like Taylor Swift, Julia Michaels and Rainbow Kitten Surprise, she has created an intimate and raw indie-pop sound that she can call her own. In 2022, BIZZY kickstarted her career when she posted herself singing her original song, 'Anybody', on TikTok which got over 10 million views. She ultimately decided to officially release the song as her official debut. After continuing to release new songs, BIZZY has now played her first ever headline show and plans to take her live performances all the way to London in the next month! - Review: "Delora" - New Divide
Toxic relationships happen a bit too often in our society. It's easy to get attached to someone when they pretend to be someone they're not. After a while you start to notice things about them that you didn't before; things that would be a deal breaker for you if you weren't already head over heels in love with them. It's hard to break free from their web once you're in it. They manipulate you into become who they want you to be until you don't know who you are anymore. You stop doing the things you love and you stop hanging out with your friends just to satisfy the wants and needs of the person who is supposed to love and care for you. 'Delora' by New Divide is the characterization of all the people out there who love to be in control of their partner. 'Delora' is haunting and cinematic experience. The indie pop and alternative rock influenced soundscape puts you into a hypnotic and ethereal state. It's the perfect song to lay in bed, put your headphones on, close your eyes and blast when you're in the angry stage of a breakup. The darkness of this track carries throughout, eventually feeling even more distorted and heavy by the time you get to the outro. This song encourages you to get all your frustration out as lead singer Charlotte's inviting vocals has you singing along "why can't I be your drug instead". New Divide is an indie band based in Manchester, England. Inspired by the likes of The 1975, Pale Waves and Wolf Alice, the trio released their first single 'ALL I AM' in 2022. Their impressive debut gained attention from BBC Radio, BCC Introducing and Amazon Radio, leading them to begin performing live shows across their country. Now after their very active year in 2022, playing numerous festivals and notable venues such as Gullivers, Bread Shed and The Night & Day, New Divide is back with their first single of 2023, 'Delora' and are ready to rock your world. - Review: "Flashbacks" - Lorelei Marcell & Hardcastle
There’s no lonelier feeling than being in a room full of people and still feeling alone. There’s no feeling sadder than going out, hoping to see one person, and being surrounded by strangers, although they all seem to look like them in a quick flash. It doesn’t matter if you’re laying in bed, driving down the street, or at a party, somehow everything reminds you of them and your mind can’t help but take you back in an instant. People ask you how you are, and you smile and nod while your mind plays a movie of the first time they kissed you. The flashbacks are the only thing we have to hold onto, and when we close our eyes, just for a moment, it feels like the memories are happening for the very first time. No matter if it’s been a day, a month, or a year, those flashbacks give us hope of reminiscing, even if we know deep in our soul that person is no longer the right fit for us. We have changed; we have grown; we have “moved on”, but we still wonder if they’re wondering about us. Do they lie awake at night unable to sleep because our story plays in the projector of their mind? Do they see my face in every crowded place? Are they really over it or just really good at pretending they are happy? Did I ever matter at all if they’re not heartbroken and lonely right now? Do the flashbacks stop them in their tracks? These questions consume us and we just want to know the truth. Although the truth is never black and white. Sometimes two people miss each other just the same, and they both live in fear of reaching out and trying again, so they both do what they can to heal, move on, and put on a happy face. We will never know what they’re thinking or feeling unless we ask, so for now, the flashbacks will wrap us in a warm blanket and bring us back to a time when love wasn’t so scary. The flashbacks, as frustrating and gut-wrenching as they are, become our favorite movie, and healed or not, we will always be first in line, ready to watch again. “Flashbacks” by Lorelei Marcell and Hardcastle is a relatable new alternative-pop single. This song is based on true events, and you can hear the raw vulnerability through your speakers. The soft, melancholy lyrics meld perfectly with the angsty guitar. Every person listening to “Flashbacks” will be taken through a flashback of their own; we all have that one ex our mind can’t seem to let go of. No matter how much time or distance extends, every sad song, every crowded room, every one shot too many takes us right back to them. Sometimes we don’t even wish to be back in their arms; we know we made the right choice through our head and our gut instinct, but sometimes our heart takes a little longer to get to the same conclusion. We want someone new to fill a void, and we get excited by first date invitations and flirty text message exchanges, but in an instant you’re looking at them through the dark and see the one person you’re trying so desperately to forget. There’s no correct path to healing; we do the best we can, and if it takes a month or 3 years, that is our journey and it’s the one we’re supposed to be on. Flashbacks can be comforting when the world turns a little too lonely. One day they’ll stop, and we’ll look back fondly and with reverence for what that was and how it got us to where we are today. Lorelei Marcell is a singer/songwriter from Boston, and she now resides in Los Angeles. Hardcastle is a singer/songwriter from Nashville, and he also resides in LA. Lorelei has over a million streams on music platforms, and she continues to gain astronomical views and streams through her social media. Hardcastle charted on Spotify’s Viral 50 charts nationally and globally due to pure talent and an amazing fan base. Together, this pair created a safe space for a topic that can be harrowing. Their talents, experiences, and dedication combined turned into an introspective insight into the secrets we keep locked away inside the four walls of our mind post-breakup. This is a song we will continue to have on repeat, and Lorelei and Hardcastle are two artists we won’t mind having constant flashbacks of. - Review: "My Turn" - Niky Pasolini
Niky Pasolini’s, “ My Turn ”, is a pop song about a love interest. We’ve all gone through the experience where there was a person we’ve had our eyes on, but were a bit too shy to make the first move. The title of the song is Niky’s way of saying that she feels as if it's her turn to let this person know that she wants them to be in her life. She refuses to let life “ drift by ” without having this person by her side. She wants them, and she's determined to make it happen. In this song, she reflects on the emotions and process of trying to find the courage to go up to them and admit her feelings. We get to hear her break down the rollercoaster of emotions, as well as the continuous overthinking that we all get when it comes to trying to speak up to someone we like. “ My Turn” is one of the most relatable songs I’ve heard when it comes to having crushes, and I guarantee that anyone listening will be able to tune in and connect with the nerves and butterflies that Niky was feeling as well. In the very beginning of the song, we hear an instrumental play. The guitar and piano are heard for a bit, but then the violin comes in alongside Niky’s angelic vocals, sending chills down your body. She kicks off the song by sharing that she likes someone, but is overthinking about how she’s going to tell them. She’s tired of the thoughts and pushes it to the side, saying that she no longer wants to “figure it out.” With this part of the song, we still hear the violin, making this part of the song a little dark. She was considering not admitting her feelings to someone she wanted, knowing the risk of having life pass on by, which she knew was the wrong thing to do. However, she then comes to the realization that with the fear of making the first move and not making any progress with this person, her life will continue to go on and she will miss the opportunity of spending life with them. So, she says “ now it's my turn to tell you that I’d like to get to know you better, so stop time turning .” Her realization here has the sound of the violin removed, and is instead joined with a lighter and more uplifting vibe to the song. She now understands and has admitted her feelings towards them. By doing this, she feels like she " stopped time ” from “ turning. ” She finally “ figured it out .” Niky Pasolini is a singer and songwriter from London. “ My Turn” is the first of 9 tracks from her newest album titled, Update. This album was released about a week ago on January 20th, and is definitely a calming album with every single song sounding very angelic to the ear. In Update , you’ll catch various instruments, such as the banjo, piano, violin, and guitar that give off a fun and poppy vibe to each song. Along with this, Niky grew up playing the piano, cello and guitar, so it's wonderful to catch these sounds spread out throughout her album and her long experience in music showing off in her great tunes. - Review: "Masterpiece" - Asy Saavedra
"Masterpiece" by Asy Saavedra is the self-love anthem of the year. This uniquely crafted song will give you the confidence boost you need when you're feeling down on yourself. As described by Asy, this song gives off 'God Energy.' Wipe away all your insecurities and embrace yourself for who you are. Our flaws and features are what separates us from everyone else in this world. There's no one else out there like you and that's what makes you a masterpiece! Asy wrote this song when she wasn't feeling so great about herself, and now it's her go-to song to sing whenever she needs her spirits lifted. This song has the power to do the same for anyone else who listens to it or decides to sing along. We all need that reminder to be proud of ourselves every once in a while. "Masterpiece" has a incredibly catchy pop influenced beat that is hard not to dance to. The electronic based instrumentation is abstract and captivating from the second it begins to play. Synth arpeggios and electro-beats fill the galactic themed soundscape. The raw and emotion-filled rhythmic vocals fit in with the alternative vibe that is uniquely Asy Saavedra. The music video gives me a mixture of Lady Gaga and David Bowie with the futuristic and art-pop aesthetics. Asy shows that she authentically herself and she doesn't care what anyone else thinks of her, and she hopes this song will make you feel the same about yourself. Asy Saavedra is a musician and composer, and is no stranger to music. Before becoming a solo artist, she had written music and toured with her sister in their band Chaos Chaos as well as other collaborations. Her most recent projects include composing the soundtrack for the indie video game, Trover Saves The Universe. She has decided to expand her horizons and showcase her unique talents, releasing her first solo album in the year 2020.
